Kidambi Srikanth is all set to take on Niluka KArunaratne in the men’s singles event of India’s first match against Sri Lanka at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, today.

Srikanth is India’s numero uno men’s singles shuttler right now, after having stunned the world by clinching four Super Series titles last season.

However, his form has dipped of late, as injuries and poor form plagued the Guntur-born shuttler. Srikanth will be looking to put his disappointments behind him against KArunaratne, against whom he will be the clear favourite, to strengthen India’s lead in the match against Sri Lanka.

It will be interesting to see whether the star shuttler can make a good start to the Commonwealth Games with a win today.
