Manjeet Singh narrowly missed out on qualification after finishing 13th
Next up, Manjeet Singh who was shouldering India's hopes in the event, however, failed to garner any point. The 24-year-old cyclist, who started from the fence eventually did not succeed to qualify for the gold.
John Archibald from Scotland who makes a start from the fence ends up with 4 points. The Scot picked up three points in sprint 1 and one point in sprint three.
The next cyclist is Australia's Cameron Meyer who makes a start from the Blue. The 30-year-old also scored 5 points and looks likely to qualify for the finals.
The Heat 2 of Men's 40km Points Race is underway. Manjeet Singh is the only Indian in the fray. The first 12 amongst the 16 cyclists will qualify for the Finals.
Day 4 is off to a positive start for India with Punam Yadav winning a gold in Weightlifting & Mery Kom securing a Bronze for herself in Boxing. India also beat the strong England team in women's hockey 2-1 coming back from 1 goal behind. The Women's 10m Air Pistol participants, India's Manu Bhaker & Heena Sidhu bagging a Gold medal and Silver medal respectively.The Indian Women's Table Tennis contingent also doing well defeating England 3-0 earlier in the day and moving on to the Gold medal match where they will be facing Singapore.
Manjeet Singh will represent India in the Men's 40 Km points race in Heat 2. Cycling hasn't been India's strongest sport and as it heads to its final day, Manjeet will look to finish the tournament on a high. The 24-year-old hails from Haryana and is making his Commonwealth Games Debut.
