That was a good start for the World No. 12, considering he did not play at all during India's mixed team campaign. That will surely stand him in good stead as he progresses deeper into the draw.
As Day 7 of the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games progresses, India will be looking to continue what has been a good run in the competition so far. Next event is Badminton Men's Singles Round of 32.
India will be represented by HS Prannoy as he plays his first match in this event. He will be taking on Christopher Jean Paul of Mauritius. The 25-year-old HS Prannoy who hails from Delhi has already won a gold medal as he was a part of the Mixed Team Event contingent which won gold defeating Malaysia 3-1 in the finals.
India continues to win medals in shooting on Day 7. India's Shreyasi Singh won a gold medal in the Women's Double Trap Finals & Ankur Mittal bagged a Bronze in the Men's Double Trap Finals. Om Mitharval also bagged a bronze medal in the Men's 50m Pistol Finals which happened earlier in the day.
India will be hoping Day 7 of the Commonwealth Games 2018 is just as successful as the previous days.
