Hello and welcome to our coverage of the 50m Butterfly Semi Final, where  India's Srihari NAtaraj is set to take part.

India’s Srihari Nataraj is all set to get his 50m backstroke campaign underway at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia, earlier.

Nataraj, who is considered as one of India’s most promising young swimmers, had made his way to the semifinals on Saturday, after he finished the inital  round with 26.47 seconds on the clock.

India have just a three-man swiming contingent at the Commonwealth Games, with Sajan Prakash and Virdhawal Khade being the other two swimmers.

Pradeep Sreedharan, who was named as the national chief coach, came under the scanner after reports claimed that he had not been training the Indian swimmers, and had instead been working in Dubai.

However, both he and Sajan Prakash later clarified that Pradeep was not being paid a single penny by the federation for being the the chief coach, and needed the job in Dubai in order to feed his family.

It will e interesting to see whether these controversies would affect the Indian swimmers.
