Laurel is unsuccessful and has also hurt her elbow in the process. It is unclear as of now if she will be able to participate in Clean & Jerk. If such is the case, it makes Feagaiga Stowers of Samoa the favorite for gold.
Purnima Pandey is all set to take the Indian weightlifting contingent’s pride one notch higher, as she vies for a medal in the Women’s 90kg category Weightlifting event at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
So far, Weightlifting has been the most successful contingent for the Indians, bringing home six gold medals medals from the Games, with just four days being over.
The likes of Mirabai Chanu, Sanjita Chanu, Sathish Sivalingam, Ragala Vekat Rahul and Seema are the ones who have won gold for their country.
