Day 1 at Gold Coast continues with another cycling event coming up. Countries take on each other in the Team Sprint event in which two teams take on each other in the velodrome. In this event, each team will have two riders who will try and complete the course as quickly as possible.

The Qualifying rounds, as well as the medal matches, will take place today in the Anna Mears Velodrome. In qualifying teams will head out to the track by themselves and try to cross the finish line as quickly as possible. Australia holds the game's records when they crossed the finish line in 33.811 seconds at the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games. The world record is held by China. They finished the race in 32. 034 seconds in an international event in 2015.

Both the racers start the race together, one behind the other. The lead cyclist goes to the stands after they finish their lap. The second cyclist takes the lead and finishes the race. Both endurance and speed are tested in case of the second cyclist.
India has sent a strong team to the Gold Coast. Deborah Herold, who is representing India in multiple events is joined by Aleena Reji.
