Lakshya Sen, Aakarshi Kashyap and the men's doubles duo of Satwicksiaraj Rankireddy have all won their pre-quarterfinal matches with ease and are now a step closer to the podium. The women's doubles duo of Gayatri Gopichand and Treesa Jolly also made it to the last-eight earlier in the day.

There's more badminton action to come later in the day as Lakshya Sen, Aakarshi Kashyap and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty are yet to play their respective Round of 16 matches.

They will be in action not before 11.20 pm IST on August 5.

That was pretty easy for PV Sindhu! The gulf in the level of experience between the two was clearly visible from the start.

In the quarterfinals, Sindhu will face Malaysia's Jin Wei Goh, whom she easily beat in the Mixed Team final a few days ago.

SINDHU IS THROUGH TO THE QUARTERFINALS!!!

Kobugabe delayed the inevitable by taking a couple of points as Sindhu ultimately wraps up the match at 21-10, 21-9.

Kobugabe moved Sindhu all over the court in an attempt to eke out errors off the Indian's racquet but sends the shuttle wide to end the rally.

It's 20-7 to Sindhu with 13 match points.

Sindhu is now an express train, wasting no time!

Has gone up to 17-7.

Sindhu now crushing the lifts with incredible power.

Up to 14-7 now.

And Sindhu decided not to be lenient any more.
She takes a couple of points to lead 11-6 heading into the interval.

Kobugabe finds a couple of points at the net to stop the rot.

Finds herself trailing 5-9.

The Ugandan lead 4-3 but since then, it's been all Sindhu. Easy lift and even easier putaway as Kobugabe keeps searching for answers.

Sindhu leads 8-3

Sindhu makes a casual start to the second game. Still not having to exert much.
The two players are currently tied at 3-3.

That was an excellent show by Sindhu in the first game.

Sindhu smartly moved her opponent all over the court to wrap up the first game at 21-10.

Sindhu now has 10 game points in the bag at 20-10

A lovely piece of deception from the Ugandan gives her a crucial point but she still trails Sindhu 10-19

The Ugandan isn't helping her cause at all by committing a lot of unforced errors.
The shuttle goes long again and Sindhu now up to 17-10

The Ugandan gets a couple of points on resumption but Sindhu is slowly pulling away with her sharp play.

It's 14-7 for the Indian.

Sindhu is playing at 50% only...it's been pretty easy for the Indian so far.

She goes up to 11-4 heading into the mid-game interval.

Sindhu won her first match yesterday with consummate ease. She thrashed Fathimath Nabaaha Abdul Razzaq of the Maldives 21-4, 21-11
