That then folks concludes the 2017 IPL auction. It has been a day that has seen some major purchases for franchises and some prominent players going unsold.
As far as the Daredevils are concerned, they bought as many as 9 players, including the likes of Kagiso Rabada, Corey Anderson in the overseas department and the likes of Aditya Tare, Ankit Bawne etc in the Indian domestic setup.
They also got an old player in the form of Angelo Matthews who played for the team earlier. All in all, it was a good auction for the team, who will go back with satisfaction for the buys they have made during the course of the day.
Thank you all for joining us and we look forward to your company for the League in April.
Post the lunch break, it will be interesting to see who the franchise go for. Will Martin Guptill get a buyer? Will Jason Roy be picked? There is still a lot to look forward to from the auction. Stay tuned for all the updates.
Murugan Ashwin, who was impressive for the RPS last year, was also picked by the franchise as was Aditya Tare, who joined an already big group of wicket-keepers.
The big talking point for the Daredevils so far has been the purchase of Kagiso Rabada and Pat Cummins. The former is among the best bowlers in the current generation while the latter has done well in the Big Bash League.
