Bengaluru continue at the top of the table, with three wins from four matches now. Shivamogga, meanwhile, continue at the bottom, having lost both of their outings so far.
Robin Uthappa, captain of the Bengaluru Blasters: "I think the bowlers got us out. They deserve all the credit. And kudos to Abhishek Bhat - he bowled well and that innings towards the end was magnificent. Pretty happy to be at the top of the table and as a batting unit, we want to pick up momentum, take cues from today and go well for the rest of the tournament."
Aniruddha Joshi, captain of the Shivamogga Lions: "Actually it's a good game. We had the game till the 13th over and the catch that I dropped in the 14th over cost us the game. I'm really proud of my team and we will come back strong next game."
Robin Uthappa will be delighted with the verve exhibited by his team today. They were 46/5 at one stage, and from there, they have crossed the finish line with an adequate number of balls to spare. Easily one of the best come-from-behind wins in the history of KPL.
Abhishek Bhat deserves a lot of credit, the way he orchestrated his innings of 40 runs in just 19 balls. The Shivamogga bowlers, on the other hand, might want to learn a thing or two about bowling at the death.
And they do - First ball of the last over! Pitched up good by Somanna to whom that last over was assigned, Koushik just jabs at it and sends it to the fence behind him. The Blasters have done an absolute turnaround here, coming back to win this game by two wickets!
Seven scored! It was three until the last ball, and then Hoysala committed the blunder of gifting Abhishek a simple ball which he promptly let soar into the long-on fence. Mitrakanth's wicket will be of no use now to the Lions.
11 needed from 12 for the Blasters. Hoysala will bowl the important penultimate over.
WICKET! Abilash Shetty you beauty! Fourth catch in the innings, as he sends Mitrakanth packing. The game's momentum is shifting sides with every ball now.
Wicket, six, two wides, missed run-out chance, overthrow, four - it was all there in the eighteenth over. Fourteen runs off it, and the wicket really does not give the Lions any advantage at this point. The only thing Somanna did right was the first ball, which got him the wicket - afterwards, things went haywire.
Aditya Sommanna is back. He was responsible for the initial Blasters' downfall.
WICKET! Somanna strikes a third time! Bharath looked to hoist it high over mid-on, but it lacked distance as Abilash completes his third catch for the day.

Fourteen runs scored, as Abhishek Bhat welcomes and bids goodbye to the bowler - slamming sixes on both occasions. Blasters cross the three-digit mark as well.
WICKET! I guess you all had forgotten about Deshpande, who stopped dealing in fours and started taking singles some time ago. He finally attempted another big one, only to rest in Jonathan's hands in the deep.

We are halfway through the Bengaluru innings, and they will need to do much better in the upcoming half - the required run-rate is now at exactly eight, and the loss of five wickets means they need to be careful as well - will they able to pull this through?
Bharath Devaraj helps himself to a four, and then finds himself almost at the brink of a catch. Seven runs off that over in total - also bringing up the Blasters' 50.
Deshpande is full of intent; smacks four balls to the fence. He has scored only in boundaries so far - 6 fours. 18 runs scored. Good over for the Blasters.
WICKET! He is on fire here, this is his second scalp. Peach of a delivery from him, duly nicked to the keeper by Vishwanath. And the celebrations follow.
