Star will continue to be the official broadcaster for the KPL, that got a 220% jump in viewership last year.

The KPL anthem, 'a great emotive way to connect', as Charu puts it, has been unveiled, tweaking the original tune just a tad with the changing times.

A number of domestic players, including the likes of Krishnappa Gowtham, and the just retired Sreenath Aravind have assembled at the venue.

The league, one of the oldest of its kind in India, has been a launchpad of sorts for several names who have gone on to play the game at the domestic as well as international level.
