I am at my peak as a batsman, says Ambati Rayudu

31-year old Ambati Rayudu might have last played for India a year ago, but he still believes his biggest goal is to regain the Team India cap,

“I personally believe that the best years for a cricketer, especially a batsman, are between 28 and 35. So, my gut feel is that the best years are ahead of me. I have been very consistent in recent years and feel that I am at my peak as a batsman”.

In a chat with The Hindu, he expressed his happiness at winning another trophy with the Mumbai Indians, their third title, but regretted how he could not come up with a big knock in the final against the Rising Pune Supergiant.

Rayudu has played 34 ODIs for India, and averages over 50, but hasn't been a regular, playing minnows such as Zimbabwe for the most part of his career.
