Jones Tuti Patriots registered their second win in TNPL 2018 as they beat Lyca Kovai Kings by 11 runs in their second match of the tournament at the NPR college ground in Natham, Dindigul.
Akkil Srinaath, who was looking good for Kovai with 35 off 20 balls, gets out in a bizarre way as he steps on the stumps trying to play a shot off the back foot. Unfortunate way to get out.

While we were away, Kovai lost the wicket of Pradosh Ranjan Paul heaply and put themselves under a lot of pressure. The asking rate is over 10 and the batsmen at the crease, Antony Dhas and Akkil Srinaath are hitting some lusty blows. Kovai 92/3 after 12 overs
In a bid to increase the scoring rate, Abhinav Mukund perishes offering S Anand a simple catch at mid-off. It looks like the pressure has got to the batsman leading to his dismissal.

Kovai batsmen are struggling to get a move on here as they are reeling at 46/1 after 7 overs on a wicket that is decent for batting. Abhinav should look to cash in on the bowling. Else, things will get tougher for Kovai.
R Sai Kishore strikes in his first over. Shahrukh Khan tried to slog sweep the spinner, managed to get a top edge and the bowler completed a fairly difficult catch.
Abhinav starts off the over with a boundary before Shahrukh made his presence felt by hitting a huge six. Kovai are getting a move on here. They took 14 runs off the fourth over.
Tuti were looking good to register a total in excess of 200 when Kaushik Gandhi, S Dinesh and Akshay Srinivasan were batting. They were cruising at 141/2 after 14 overs. But, Kovai bowlers pulled things back and restricted them for just 182/7 in 20 overs. T Natarajan, S Ajith Ram and MP Rajesh were the pick of the bowlers for Kovai as they picked up two wickets apiece while S Dinesh was the stand-out performer with the bat for Tuti with 59 off 42 balls and was well support by Akshay, who scored a 21-ball 45.
Shahrukh Khan, who conceded 12 runs in his first over, bowled very short and the batsmen, especially Srinivasan, made full use of it. A six off the second, two consecutive fours and another six on the fifth delivery saw Tuti add 22 runs from this one. They're on a roll!
FIFTY for S Dinesh. The southpaw brings up the milestone with a six. He took 36 balls and hit three fours and four sixes in his knock. The team 100 has been achieved. 11 runs came off the 11th over.
MP Rajesh finally strikes! Kaushik Gandhi's luck finally runs out as he top edges one straight back to the bowler who hardly moved to complete the catch.
Pradosh Ranjan Paul drops a sitter to give a life to Kaushik Gandhi, who was batting on 42. You won't get an easier catch than that. Skipper Abhinav cannot believe what he just witnessed. To add on to the misery, Dinesh smashes Ajith Ram for a huge six off the very next ball.
Tuti Patriots are off to a great start in the field restriction overs. They will expect their batsmen to keep up the run rate and look for a total in excess of 200.
The Tuti openers are in the mood here in Dindigul. After Dinesh smashes KV through the covers for a boundary, Kaushik Gandhi lofts him over mid-on for a six to end the over. 12 runs came off the fifth over.
Kaushik Gandhi started the over with a brilliant flick off his legs before he offered Abhinav Mukund a tough catch. Abhinav, at covers, dived full stretch and had the ball kissing his hands. Calling it a dropped chance will be harsh on the fielder. The first over from T Natarajan conceded seven runs.
Yet again, K Vignesh bowls a brilliant over to begin the innings. He was on target right from the word go and kept things tight. Just three came off it.
