The second semi-final of the 2017 Hockey India League will be a contest of Dabang Mumbai's attack and Delhi Waverider's defence. Mumbai have a tendency of putting a lot of men forward and Delhi will be using a lot of scoops to put Mandeep through in the final third. On the other hand, Delhi Waveriders would want to control the midfield in the match. Dabang Mumbai take on Delhi Waveriders in the second semi-final of the 2017 Hockey India League and both teams will go into this match thinking they have a great chance of making it to the final. Table toppers Dabang Mumbai are likely to have the upper hand on paper, given how good they have been throughout the tournament and became the first team to qualify for the top four. Mumbai have attacked from the word go in all their victories and have been led amicably by Florian Fuchs, who has been among the goals in the tournament. Harmanpreet Singh, Affan Yousuf and Gurjant have been superb for Mumbai, adding goals when necessary.

Delhi Waveriders had a bit of a stop start tournament but managed to make it to the semi-finals by just edging out Ranchi Rays and winning crucial matches when required. The boys from the capital have preferred playing on the counter and stifling the midfield of opponents.
