Almost a fourth for England but Kane at full stretch can't reach a perfect cross from Rashford on the right.

A free-kick to Senegal on the inside-right channel but it's wide of the post and Pickford had it covered.

GOAL! Bukayo Saka in the 57th minute! England 3 Senegal 0. England are cruising now. Senegal dive into challenges but Foden slips away on the left, he nutmegs Koulibaly as he passes and Saka has the awareness to lift it over Mendy. That should be the game now and a place in the quarter-finals.

Kane has no-one to pass the ball to so shoots at goal and it is just about kept out by Mendy.

Senegal make three changes: Ndiaye, Diatta and Ciss are replaced by Gueye, Dieng and Pape Sarr.

STAT: That was Kane's first goal in this World Cup and he may well have booked his side a spot in the quarter-finals.

GOAL! Harry Kane in the 47th minute! England 2 Senegal 0. That is the perfect counter-attacking goal. Bellingham steals the ball way inside his own half, dribbles a couple and passes to Foden on the left and Kane is away on the right, he gets it from Foden, a couple of touches later it's rifled past Mendy. As clinical a finish as you can get.

Koulibaly has had a bad game so far. He gives the ball away and Shaw is down the left but a heavy touch and Mendy closes him down as he gets across.

Almost a second for England. Saka on the right and he feeds Kane who skies it over. Was leaning back and did not get the contact he wanted. Surely a chance by his high standards.

GOAL! Jordan Henderson in the 38th minute! England 1 Senegal 0. Against the run of play, England score. Harry Kane drops deep, drags men towards him, slips in Bellingham on the left who slides the ball to Henderson - who has a made a run from midfield untracked - the Liverpool veteran side-foots past the diving Mendy.

Nice play down the left and Dia was away past Stones but Pickford with a strong left hand.

Brilliant save by Jordan Pickford to prevent Boulaye Dia from opening the scoring. First shot on target in the game.

In that phase of play the ball hit Stones' arm but that was from the thigh, a ricochet. VAR has a look and gets on with it.

A chance for Senegal but Ismaila Sarr can't turn it in. It comes from a Harry Maguire giveaway to a man in a dangerous area. Pickford did well and just about enough to force Sarr to sky it wide.

A corner is taken by Foden on the right but Stones shoulders it well wide.

STAT courtesy BBC: Aged 19 years and 158 days, Jude Bellingham is the second teenager to start in a World Cup knockout match for England, after Michael Owen (18 years 198 days) against Argentina in 1998.

It is England who have started on the front foot and Senegal are a bit of a mess at the back with Kalidou Koulibaly all over the place. But Kane's cross from the left does not meet any England shirt.

Almost a calamity at the back for Senegal as Abdou Diallo is closed down by Saka but the defender stands strong and Mendy comes to collect the ball.

Early chance for Boulaye Dia who is through but a combination of Stones and Maguire shepherd the ball to the keeper.

A statement from the FA read: “Raheem Sterling is not available for selection for the Three Lions tonight as he is dealing with a family matter.”

Starting with Senegal who won't have the services of Idrissa Gueye, who picked up two yellow cards during the group stage, thus ruling him out tonight. Cheikhou Kouyate, who was stretchered off in their opening game with the Netherlands will also miss the game.

"We will be considered favourites," Southgate said.

"But that doesn't really mean anything in a one-off game," the England boss added.

"It doesn't mean there isn't any pressure for Senegal because every international team has great pressure in their own nation and externally as well."

England manager Gareth Southgate believes his side are ready for a penalty shootout if it comes to that.

“Well, like every other aspect of our game, we're prepared and we've had a process that we've followed,” said Southgate.

“We've had three shoot-outs, we've won two, so inevitably the one that you don't get over the line you reflect and you think about how you can improve those processes.

“We've done that over the last few months, in particular, but of course, there is so many other aspects to the game that we've got to get right.

“We're aiming to win the game and to avoid extra-time if you can, and to avoid penalties if you can, because you'd like to get a victory in 90 minutes.

“But if we need to go 120 minutes, if we need to go beyond that, then we've got to be ready for that mentally and physically. And I believe we are.”

Senegal coach Aliou Cisse, is a doubt to be on the touchline after he missed Saturday's media duties through illness.

"He has been sick for a couple of days now," said assistant coach Regis Bogaert, who replaced Cisse at the news conference.

"He let us take charge of training yesterday, obviously with his instructions to the players.

"Hopefully tomorrow he will be able to come and be on the bench with the players but we are sure at 10pm he will be there with the team.

"I can confirm he is sick and has a bit of a temperature, that is why we have to be careful with his situation."
