Mexico didn't deserve to lose the game by a 3-goal margin, they played well but just didn't have things going in their way. Germany have been imperious in the tournament and the final will be a repeat of their group stage clash, which finished 1-1.

45' Now Herrera is fouled by Draxler and Mexico have a free-kick. Herrera swings it in but Germany are able to clear it easily.

42' Jimenez has the ball on the edge of the German penalty box, the Benfica star tries to lay it off for Chicharito but it is cut out.

39' Mexico have a free-kick in a promising position and Herrera steps us and lifts it over the wall and it was probably going into the back of the net but Ter Stegen took no chances and palmed it away.

Giovanni spots his run into the box and tried to find it, however, Kimmich is there to block it but the ball somehow squeezes through him and Hernandez with only an onrushing keeper to beat, fires over.

33' Mexico have two back to back changes but Ter Stegen is equal to both. The ball is played to Chicharito, who lays it off for Giovanni dos Santos, who fires across goal but straight at the keeper, before his brother Jonathan dos Santos heads down into the ground but straight at Ter Stegen.

19' Ochoa makes a great save to keep Mexico in the game. It is Goretzka again who starts the move, sliding the ball on to Rudiger, who curls a ball into the path of Werner, who lines up and tries to squirm it underneath the legs of Ochoa but he gets down excellently to stop the shot.

17' Draxler goes on a mazy run through the middle before cutting away from goal, however, Germany lose the ball before it finds it way to Stindl who couldn't get his shot away.
