Mexico didn't deserve to lose the game by a 3-goal margin, they played well but just didn't have things going in their way. Germany have been imperious in the tournament and the final will be a repeat of their group stage clash, which finished 1-1.

Can picks out Younes's run and the youngster has the ball as he bursts down the left before slotting the ball past Ochoa with ice-cool calmness to restore Germany's 3-goal lead over Mexico.

90' Almost a second for Fabian but it is Rudiger who puts in an excellent challenge to deny the Mexicans.

Mexico have a free-kick some 40 yards from goal and the ball is just nudged to Fabian, who hits a ferocious shot from all of 35 yards, which swerves away from Ter Stegen and into the top corner.

77' Mexico have been denied by the woodwork with Ter Stegen well and truly beaten. Jimenez's run into the box is spotted by Lozano who pings the ball into the box and the forward heads it but the ball cannons off the crossbar.

75' Draxler with a moment of magic as he made a mockery of Layun by slotting the ball towards the right before running past him down the right. The PSG winger cuts back in before trying to beat Ocha with a shot from the edge of the box but it is straight at Ochoa.

70' After some neat play by Mexico down the left, the ball finds its way through to Layun, who unleashes a left-footed screamer but Ter Stegen is equal to it.

Mexico need to do something special and they need to do it now if they harbor hopes of a comeback.

57' Lozano has the ball down the left and he tries to curl a ball into the box but he has a lot of power behind it and Chicharito or Jiminez can't get on the end of it.

He broke down the right and lined up to shoot as Moreno came from behind, pushing and not allowing him to get the shot away. 50' Mexico win a corner and Giovanni swings it in with his left. The ball is accurate and Jimenez tries to guide it into the back of the net but it is over and Germany survive.

47' Werner almost capitalizes on a defensive lapse by Mexico as he almost gets hold of the ball in the box but Ochoa is quick to come off his line and gather the ball.

45' Now Herrera is fouled by Draxler and Mexico have a free-kick. Herrera swings it in but Germany are able to clear it easily.

42' Jimenez has the ball on the edge of the German penalty box, the Benfica star tries to lay it off for Chicharito but it is cut out.

39' Mexico have a free-kick in a promising position and Herrera steps us and lifts it over the wall and it was probably going into the back of the net but Ter Stegen took no chances and palmed it away.

Giovanni spots his run into the box and tried to find it, however, Kimmich is there to block it but the ball somehow squeezes through him and Hernandez with only an onrushing keeper to beat, fires over.

33' Mexico have two back to back changes but Ter Stegen is equal to both. The ball is played to Chicharito, who lays it off for Giovanni dos Santos, who fires across goal but straight at the keeper, before his brother Jonathan dos Santos heads down into the ground but straight at Ter Stegen.

32' Mexico are trying hard to find a way through and finally they found it as Draxler is robbed of the ball by Giovanni, who tries to beat Ter Stegen from range but the effort is off target.

28' Mexico have started to assert themselves on the game and the crowd have erupted with chants of 'Mexico', 'Mexico' ringing around the stadium.

Germany are putting Mexico to the sword on the counter. Will Osorio's side be able to do the impossible?

24' Jimenez swings a cross towards the far post and Aquino is lurking to guide it home but Henrichs does excellently to hold off the Mexican winger and stop the attack.

Mexico have their work cut out here. They have been in similar positions before in the tournament but theses are the world champions that they are facing. Will they be able to mount a memorable comeback and script history?

21' Jimenez and Hernandez combine on the edge of the German penalty box but are unable to breach the German defence.

19' Ochoa makes a great save to keep Mexico in the game. It is Goretzka again who starts the move, sliding the ball on to Rudiger, who curls a ball into the path of Werner, who lines up and tries to squirm it underneath the legs of Ochoa but he gets down excellently to stop the shot.

17' Draxler goes on a mazy run through the middle before cutting away from goal, however, Germany lose the ball before it finds it way to Stindl who couldn't get his shot away.

15' Werner makes a run down the left this time and Kimmich tries to find it with an over the top ball but he gets a little more weight behind it and Ochoa gathers.

13' Werner looks to counter but he is stamped upon by Alanis and Germany have a free-kick.

11' Mexico are showing intent in their play here and that has lead to their first chance.
