Ernesto Valverde's stint as the manager of Barcelona is off to the perfect start. The Spaniard has won his first ever El Clasico and will be hoping that it will be the first of many. Messi gave the Catalan giants an early lead before Rakitic doubled the lead only a couple of minutes later. Real Madrid pulled one back through Kovacic before Asensio equalized. The second half started the same way as the first one, as Pique put the Camp Nou outfit ahead, poking home Neymar's cross. Zinedine Zidane's side tried their best to find a breakthrough but were denied by some good goalkeeping by Jasper Cillessen. The two sides meet again in about a fortnight's time, until then we will have to make do with this.
90+2' PEEP PEEP PEEP! Full-Time: Real Madrid 2-3 Barcelona Barcelona are the winners of the 2017 International Champions Cup by beating Real Madrid 3-2 in the final.
84' INCHES WIDE BY CEBALLOS!!! Vasquez cuts in from the right before laying it off for Ceballos, who tries to curl a vicious effort into the top corner. He gets the connection behind it but fails to get the required bend as it flies past the far post of Cillessen.
81' CILLESSEN WITH AN OUTSTANDING SAVE TO DENY ISCO. The Spaniard went on a run cutting in from the left, the former Malaga man, gets to the edge of the box and tries to curl one into the bottom corner. It was destined for the bottom corner but for the outstretched arm of Cillessen. WHAT A SAVE!!
72' Barcelona have a free-kick down the right for a foul on Denis. Neymar swings it in and Carvajal and Rakitic are having a 'rassling' match in the middle and the Spaniard appears to have come off worse.
66' Bale bombs forward down the left and tries to slide the ball between the legs of Cillessen, under pressure from Semedo, but the former Ajax man does well to stop the effort.
62' Some heated words being exchanged between Rakitic and the referee. Bale was trying to dribble around the half way line when Vidal slid in with a crunch challenge. The Real Madrid players want Vidal to be booked as he trudges off the field.
59' Umtiti's effort is cleared off the line. From the resulting corner, Neymar is played through by Messi and the Brazilian goes to the byline before chipping a ball into the box, Umtiti brings it down and fires towards goal but with Navas well beaten, the effort is cleared off the line.
58' Suarez has an excellent chance to score now but the Uruguayan's shot is deflected behind. The former Liverpool man latches on to a brilliant through ball from the right before getting the better of Nacho with a drop of his shoulder, however, he fails to beat Navas.
56' Neymar has another chance to make it 4-2 as Suarez rolls the ball for Roberto, who sets it up for the Brazilian. However, Neymar's curled effort is way off target.
55' NEYMAR tries to be too cheeky and ends up shooting wide. The Brazilian was through on goal having been played an inch-perfect ball by Messi, the Brazilian could have tried to beat Navas but he opts to run around the goalkeeper but Navas does excellently to drop down and get a hand on it. Should have been 4-2.
54' Casemiro does well to win the ball at the edge of the Barcelona box. The Brazilian rolls it into the path of an onrushing Bale, who shoots but his shot is way over the bar. First significant contribution by Bale in the match.
Neymar stands over the resulting free-kick. The Brazilian floats it into the box and Pique does well to break the offside trap and poke the ball over Navas into the back of the net.
A couple of fans hold up a message for Lionel Messi, which reads - "Messi, whatever planet you came from don't go back!" Indeed Mr. Messi, don't even think about going back.
