Phew! What a match! What a second half! Manchester City played some beautiful and attacking football to absolutely blow away the Champions League winners. Pep Guardiola will also be extremely pleased with the performances of Walker, Ederson and Danilo while Zidane will possibly be pondering new additions to his squad which looked slightly jaded

91' GOOOAAAAALLLLLLLLLL! Oscar Rodriguez scores! Real Madrid have a consolation goal and what a goal it is. Oscar Rodriguez struck a dipping effort from a full 30 yards out to beat the City goalkeeper. Arguably beats Brahim Diaz's goal as the goal of the match! Brilliant strike.

89' Real Madrid hit the post! Achraf Hakimi goes past a tiring City defence and his powerful shot from a tight angle beats the goalkeeper but does not beat the post. Unlucky!

87' Manchester City are knocking about the ball comfortably now and it looks like both the teams are playing for the final whistle. It has been a complete performance by the Citizens.

84' The crowd and Real Madrid team look shell-shocked by this performance. Manchester City have ripped apart the Madrid defence and played some beautiful football in the process. Pep Guardiola will be an extremely happy man while Zidane will be looking to bounce back immediately as they face Barcelona on Saturday!

79' SANE ALMOST SCORES IMMEDIATELY! The curly haired German is released brilliantly and his shot goes past Casilla but hits the post. The Madrid defence are at 6s and 7s at the moment!

78' CLOSE! Real Madrid win a free-kick at the edge of the area, but Asensio's effort goes just above Ederson's post. Just as we speak, City are preparing to make 4 more substitutions on the sidelines with Sane and Roberts set to add even more freshness to the City attack

76' The substitutions of De Bruyne and Jesus seem to have taken the rhythm out of City's game as the match has suddenly become a bit scrappy with both teams trying to keep possession.

72' How many more easy chances are Madrid going to miss? Asensio who has been impressive right from the go whips in an inviting ball and finds Vallejo at the back-post. The young defender inexplicably sends the ball above the goal from just 4 yards out. Bad miss!

70' City make a couple of substitutions again as the impressive De Bruyne and Gabriel Jesus are replaced by promising youngsters Zinchenko and Diaz

68' Real Madrid miss a glorious chance to get one back! Ederson who has been excellent this game inexplicably gives the ball straight to Asensio who plays in Borja Mayoral. The young Real Madrid striker disappointingly does not even hit the target from 6 yards out and Ederson is let off the hook. Bad error there by the former Benfica shotstopper

67' GOOOOOAAAALLLLLLLL! Manchester City score again! John Stones with the goal this time! De Bruyne with the assist again. The Belgian cuts the ball back to John Stones who was in the box for the set-piece. The young English defender calmly slots the ball past the despairing Casilla. What a performance from City!

66' De Bruyne's free-kick hits the post! Manchester City win a free kick in a dangerous area and the Belgian's free-kick had Casilla beaten comfortably, but, unfortunately, strikes the post. So close!

63' Whole sale changes by Real Madrid! Los Blancos substitute all their 10 outfield players. Notable names coming in on or Dani Ceballos, Theo Hernandez and Lucas Vasquez who is now the captain of this Madrid side.

61' City almost score again! Danilo who has been excellent in an unfamiliar left-back position whizzes in a wicked cross which just eludes De Bruyne. This performance must have really pleased Pep Guardiola

59' GOOOOOOAAAAALLLLLLLLL! Manchester City score again and Sterling makes up for his miss. The same duo of De Bruyne and Sterling combine again and this time the Englishman slots coolly past Casilla. What a pass by De Bruyne. Sheer class!

58' HUGE MISS BY STERLING! De Bruyne releases Sterling and the pacy English winger who was through on goal drags his effort wide from a tight angle. City are looking extremely threatening here

55' Brilliant save by Ederson! I told you Real Madrid would want to hit back immediately and they almost do so through Casemiro. The Brazilian found himself through on goal but Ederson was quick off his line to narrow the angle and save brilliantly.

The ball falls to Modric whose left footed curling shot goes narrowly above goal. What a start to the second half!

Kevin De Bruyne swings in an excellent corner which is met by John Stones. The defender's powerful header is only parried by Casilla and Otamendi sweeps the ball in from 4 yards out. He will not score an easier goal. City take the lead and Madrid will be determined to bounce back immediately

52' GOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLL! Manchester City score! Otamendi with the goal for the Premier League side.

49' HOW DID MADRID NOT SCORE? Modric swings a cross into the box and miscommunication between Ederson and Walker sees the ball fall to Carvajal. With no goalkeeper on the line, Carvajal inexplicably tries it to pass it to Benzema, but Walker recovers to clear the ball away. Carvajal should have done much better there.

47' This is why Varane is so highly rated! Casilla plays a poor pass to Varane who shows excellent composure and skill on the ball to wriggle away from Nasri who thought he was in there. Close call!

46' Real Madrid get us underway in the second half!

Manchester City have made a few changes with Sterling, Mangala and NASRI coming on for Kompany, Foden and Aguero.

Does Nasri have a future at City? Well he has 45 minutes to show Pep Guardiola he does

The teams are out on the park and we are just moments away from the second half. It does not seem like Madrid have made many changes as Benzema, Bale, Kovacic and Casemiro are all already on the pitch rearing to go.

HALF TIME: Manchester City 0 - 0 Real Madrid

Phew! What a half! It might have been goalless, but it was certainly not short of action. Manchester City started off strongly, but Madrid asserted their dominance in the last few minutes. Things were getting pretty heated up as well and it will certainly be interesting to follow the second half.

A number of changes are expected and it will be interesting to see how the teams fare after the break. Stay tuned!

43' PENALTY? No! Gabriel Jesus goes down very easily in the box under pressure from Nacho and the referee is not having any of that. Madrid defenders were not pleased with Jesus and things are getting heated up at Los Angeles. Definitely does not feel like a friendly!

40' Second yellow card of the game for Real Madrid. This time it is for Dani Carvajal for a push in Aguero. Aguero was not at all pleased with the challenge. Things are heating up here

38' ATTACK after ATTACK from Real Madrid! It is Modric this time who plays the telling pass to Benzema. The Frenchman unleashes a powerful drive which is saved well by Ederson. 3 saves out of 3 Benzema shots for Ederson. Not bad from the most expensive goalkeeper in the world.

36' CLOSE! SO CLOSE! Isco again is at the heart of things. The Spaniard bided his time and played a perfect ball to Modric who had the freedom of City's entire left flank. The Croatian sent a good ball across, but it narrowly eluded Benzema who had made a good run into the box. Could Benzema have dived and put it in the back of the net? Certainly looked like it for me.

34' Nacho becomes the first Real Madrid player to get booked for an elbow on Jesus

32' Pure class from Isco! The Spaniard shows some silky feet to get past Foden and Walker, but Marcelo's return ball to him is unfortunately slightly overhit and the ball goes behind for a goal-kick. 17-year-old Foden was schooled by Isco quite frankly, lovely skills by the playmaker.

30' Yaya Toure picks up the first caution of the game for a cynical foul on Kovacic

28' Real Madrid hit the post! Los Blancos almost open the scoring from a corner! Isco curls in a wonderful ball which is met brilliantly by Casemiro, but his header bounced back off the post. Benzema's shot off the rebound is saved well by Ederson. Finally some pressure by Real Madrid

24' WHAT. A. SAVE! City are knocking on the door and almost got through but for the heroics of Navas. De Bruyne played a brilliant ball to Aguero who took one touch before rifling a powerful right-footed shot. Navas had to be at his best to deny the Argentine. Pep Guardiola will definitely be pleased with his team's performance so far.

22' SAVE! This is the kind of football Pep Guardiola wants to see! City play some beautiful football from the back and Yaya Toure releases Sergio Aguero who finds Jesus with an intelligent through ball. The Brazilian forward's shot is saved excellently by Navas. Who needs De Gea when Navas can save like this?

19' Blistering pace shown by Kyle Walker! Kevin De Bruyne releases Walker on the right and the Englishman showing excellent pace manages to keep the ball in and plays a decent cross. Nacho handles it well and it goes behind for a corner.

The resultant corner is overhit and does not trouble the Madrid defence. Promising start from new City signing Walker. Guardiola will be pleased if he keeps this up.

17' As expected, much of the play is going through Real Madrid's new number 10, Luka Modric. The Croatian magician is running things at the centre of the park as Madrid are trying to find their way past City's defence.

15' Brilliant by De Bruyne! The classy Belgian shows some excellent footwork to work some space for the shot. But, unfortunately, his shot is not as good and it drifts harmlessly wide. City have had less of the ball, but look threatening whenever they have it

12' CLOSE! Real Madrid led by Modric fashion another smooth move causing City problems. City after a frantic scramble win the ball back but Yaya Toure's pass is intercepted and the ball almost falls to Bale who is denied by an alert Ederson rushing off the line. The game has had a pretty good start with both teams not hesitating to attack.

9' SAVE! This time by Keylor Navas. Yaya Toure passes the ball to Gabriel Jesus who unleashes a powerful shot from 30 yards out to test Navas. Good handling by the Costa Rican shot stopper. Jesus looks up for the match and is causing Madrid some problems with his intelligent movement.

7' SAVE! Isco starts off the move and picks out an excellent ball for Bale. The Welshman plays the ball back to Isco whose curling shot is saved excellently by Ederson. Early warning signs there for the City defence

5' Manchester City play some good football and Gabriel Jesus leaves Carvajal for dead, but his ball for Foden had a bit too much pace on it and Navas collects it easily.

2' SHOT! Real Madrid have the game's first attack! Kovacic steals the ball away from City and feeds the ball to Bale who shows excellent footwork to glide past the City defence. However, his powerful left-footed shot goes sailing past the City goalkeeper. Good move by Madrid.

An interesting point to note is that Bale is starting on the left, while Isco is on the right. They might be swapping flanks soon.

1' KICK OFF! Manchester City get us underway! They immediately try to spread the ball to Kevin De Bruyne, but Varane steps in to clear.

Football in the US I tell you. The crowd is being entertained with a light show as the teams enter the pitch to tumultuous applause. Manchester City are looking sharp in their Maroon away kit while Real Madrid are also surprisingly wearing their Black away kit.

Team captains Marcelo and Kompany meet for the toss and we are less than a minute away now from kick-off!
