All 3 points for Manchester United on a night they almost let their complacency get the better of them. United were clinical in front of goal as Young scored two spectacular goals to open the scoring. Martial then followed it up with a delightful side-footed finish. United then sat back and soaked up the pressure and almost stumbled into the pit they dug with their rooted heels and dispirited souls as Deeney and Doucoure raised Mourinho's blood pressure levels.

But Jesse Lingard was having none of it. He swivelled and shimmied past everything that came his way and sent the ball past a diving Gomes to seal the victory for Manchester United.

Quite the entertainer.

93' United are running the clock with Pogba and Rashford combining well on the left flank. Zlatan subsequently wins the ball in the attacking half but his attempt to square one to Young is rather poor and Watford have a chance to give it one last shot.

91' United give the ball away near the halfway line and Carrillo sashays past one United defender before serving one delicious ball into the box. Lindelof sprints in and heads it out for a corner. The corner is rubbished by United.

Lingard gets the ball in his own half and runs past 1, past 2, past 3- past Mariappa, past Kabasele to drag the attack to the right side and then slides it past Gomes with a wonderful shot. What a goal. Counter attacking football at its best.

Carrillo with yet another brilliant piece of play on the right flank. he pulls it back for Doucoure who sends it into the corner with an outside foot shot and it is game on! This is terrible from Manchester United.

60' Zeegelar goes past one but Lindelof smacks it out. He has been spectacular at the back tonight for United. Doucoure then unleashes a shot from 25 yards out and it sails over the top. You'll need something really special to beat De Gea from that range and that was anything but.

59' Pogba tries to play a cheeky lobbed ball into the area but Lingard is a good few inches short to head it home as Watford make sure it comes to nothing.

Femenia with a hopeful and inventive run towards the left flank. He then chips one into the area and is met by Richarlison who tries to dink it over De Gea but gets a little too much elevation and the ball goes over De Gea's despairing dive and hits the woodwork and goes out.

45+1' Richarlison finally gets the better of Lindelof for the first time tonight but an immaculately timed tackle from Smalling deadens the threat as Pogba try to run it out of danger. He is, however, brought down by Richarlison and United have a freekick to clear their lines.

Romelu Lukaku with a beastly driving run down the middle. He gets a shot away with his right foot and Gomes parries it into the path of an incoming Lingard who should be scoring from there. But Gomes' reaction save is on point and he nicks it out for a corner. Subsequent corner is rubbish however.

42' Lindelof handles the ball and Watford have a freekick on the left flank, a bit too far out. Cleverley tries to whip one on in but his ball doesn't even fall in the box. Marco Silva is livid near the dugout.

It doesn't reach Lukaku as Watford start a counter. Andre Gray muscles Rojo in midfield. In fact, Rojo came on to him from behind and obstructed the play and receives a yellow card for that.

35' Lindelof wins the ball from Richarlison in the centre of the field and with a couple of neat touches gets himself free and shoves it into the path of Pogba who is fouled. United have a freekick but their subsequent attack does not amount to much.
