PEEP! PEEP! And a fairly routine win for Germany sees them go through to the semifinals of the FIFA CONFEDERATIONS CUP where they will face MEXICO, while PORTUGAL take on CHILE (WOOF!)
That was a rather interesting game to cover, thank you for reading!
93' Aboubakar - the ever willing veteran that he is - chases a seemingly lost cause before sitting Rudiger down and setting up Siani - the midfielder, though, can only sky it into orbit.
91' FOUR MINUTES ADDED ON. Germany still have the ball - and pass, pass, pass, pass, they go. Heinrichs and Brandt work more mischief on the right before passing it to Can, who passes it to Younes - who is then blocked well..
90' OH YOUNES!! OH ONDOA! The youngster works out some space inside the box with some sublime skill (including a nutmeg on Teikeu) but his jink is saved by the outside of Ondoa's foot... the corner is then wasted.
88' FANTASTIC FROM FABRICE ONDOA! THAT MAN HAS KEPT THIS SCORE RESPECTABLE! Germany work the ball out to Younes on the left, all alone in the box - he curls one that looks destined for the bottom far corner before Ondoa claws it away with a string left glove
86' Ekambi gives Younes a dose of his own medicine by working his way down the right flank with some silky skill that leaves Younes looking like a touch daft - but Sule is alert enough behind him to ensure Cameroon do nothing with it.
85' Brandt plays in Younes with a slightly overhit ball that the Ajax youngster did well to keep alive. He in turn finds Emre Can who plays a lovely little reverse to Werner but the Leipzig man is denied his hat-trick by more excellent keeping from Ondoa
AH WHAT A GOAL! Brandt and Heinrichs worked it out on the right and the latter's ball into the box is guided into the far corner by an unflinching Timo Werner. That mini-Cameroonian resurgence has been brutally snuffed out!
80' Draxler is taken off form Amen Younes - the tricky Ajax winger - he almost combines with his fellow substitute to increase Germany's lead! Younes wiggles into the box and plays in Brandt but the youngsters shot is well saved by Ondoa
That was horrible from ter Stegen... Ngamaleu floated in an easy looking ball into the box, and while ter Stegen waited to punch it away - Aboubakar (who never gave up on it) stole in ahead of him and glanced it in.
77' Heinrichs almost makes his mark on the game but Cameroon somehow manages to scramble his cross clear.... Germany then throw on Julian Brandt for Kerem Demirbay
76' Aboubakar tries to open up Germany with a deft little chip into the box, but the ball goes one way as its intended recipient Ngamaleu goes the other way. Story of the tournament so far for the Cameroonians
75' Bouyed by his earlier goal, Karim Demirbay tries one from a similar distance but ends up sending it to Row Z. Cameroon are still trying gamely - but the natural bounce has been stolen from their game - by the German goals, and that moment of madness from Ernest Mabouka
72' Bassagog tries to get going at the other end - but after his charge up the middle of the field opens up space for Collins Fai, the left back overhits his ball to Aboubakar and that's that
71' Draxler is doing as he pleases as he pulls play one way and then the other - Plattenhardt ends a series of neat passes by trying a cross in that is well cleared by Teikeu.
70' In this side of the world Germany are toying with the Indomitable Lions. The unimpressive Benjamin Moukandjo is taken off for Jerome Guihoata but there seems to be no way back for Cameroon right now
68' Can Cameroon eke out some positivity from the game? Not if they go on like this... Siani misplaces a standard pass and Draxler is turning it on! He races past Siani and down the touchline before placing a harmless shot/cross into Ondoa's palms
Well it should all be academic now. Sule released Kimmich with a lovely crossfield ball and the Bayern youngster teased in a cross that was superbly headed in by a diving Timo Werner. Quality written all over that one.
64' OH, so now RED CARD FOR MABOUKA! THIS HAS ALL GONE LOCO! WHAT A FARCICAL USE OF VAR - the challenge itself, though, did deserve a red card - it's just the way it was used that's the cause of irritation
62' Siani gets into the book as Mabouka goes in hard on Can (high and reckless) - that was borne out of frustration more than anything else. Why Siani got the yellow only the ref will know
59' Cameroon win a freekick in a dangerous looking position but Moukandjo's delivery is well cleared. Cameroon stay up the pitch and steal the ball....
57' Hugo Broos is going for broke here as Ngamaleu is thrown on in place of Djoum... Germany meanwhile try to attack through Werner, but the even pacier Bassagog does well to come back and pick the ball off his toes
55' OH ONDOA HAS JUST KEPT CAMEROON IN THE GAME! Werner is played in and Ondoa does well to stop him in his tracks (when one-on-one), Kimmich then follows up fully believing he'll score, but Ondoa stretches out a strong hand to keep the score at 1-0. Superb stuff from Ondoa
53' AI AI WERNER! Draxler plays in the Leipzig man, but he has to wait for his first international goal - a while if he keeps finishing like this. Having raced into the box, he sends one into orbit from all of ten yards out
51' Plattenhardt's set piece is comfortably cleared but that's about all that is comfortable for the African champs this half... Plattenhardt tries to play in Can on the inside, but the ball's got a touch too much oomph
50' Germany have come out all guns firing now. Can and Draxler try to weave a pretty little pattern through the heart of Cameroon but the Liverpool man's pass is off-target. Werner then runs at the defence and wins a corner
OH LORD! WHAT A GOAL! DEMIRBAY ABSOLUTELY LARRUMPS ONE INTO THE FAR TOP CORNER FROM THE EDGE OF THE BOX AFTER SOME SUPERB DRIBBLING BY DRAXLER TO SET HIM UP!
46' Moukandjo takes the corner - but the ref blows for a foul on ter Stegen. One minute of stoppage time and despite the best efforts of Draxler, Ginter and Demirbay - nothing happens
43' OH MY LORD! WHAT A SAVE! Plattenhardt curls in a lovely ball that Werner toes in at the direction of the goal - but Collins Fai pulls off a remarkable reflex save. It was offside and wouldn't have counted anyway, but that takes nothing away from the save
