An exciting game comes to an end as Chennai City FC put in a spirited showing against East Bengal as none of the teams are able to score in the second half. East Bengal rises to second in the table leap-frogging Shillong Lajong FC.
81' - Vanspaul takes the free-kick and it is a good effort. Manages to clear the wall well but the ball curls a bit too much and goes shy of the goal as he looks frustrated.
69' - CLOSE!!! Murilo looks for Joachim Jr. in the box and puts a cross into the box but the striker toes the effort but it goes wide. Barreto is struggling now and the play has been stopped.
63' - Plaza finds his way through into the Chennai box but is unable to pull the trigger as the keeper comes out to distract him as the ball goes out for a corner.
An exciting half comes to an end as Chennai manage to pull one back after going two down at the half-hour mark thanks to Alexander Jesuraj's strike. East Bengal were in control for much of the half and will rue the fact that they conceded a late goal in the half. Stay tuned for the second half action as we return after a break of 15 minutes.
43' - THEY'VE PULLED ONE BACK!!! And the crowd goes wild!! A defensive lapse from the East Bengal sees Alexander Jesuraj capitalize quickly and slot a well-taken half-volley past the East Bengal keeper who looks dazed as he was rooted to the spot.
31' - ANOTHER ONE!! This time Charles De Souza gets it. A loose ball is not dealt well by the Chennai defense and the East Bengal rises to head it past the rushing keeper into the empty net. Have the floodgates opened for Chennai City FC?
30' - Yusa goes on a classic run on the left wing but is unable to thread the ball through and finds the Chennai defensive wall ahead of him and the move is broken.

20' - A good chance for Chennai as a free-kick into the box is on target for Joachim Jr but his header is straight in the hands of Barreto as Chennai begin to cause troubles for the away side.
16' - Ralte is fouled on the right wing by Pradeep as East Bengal have a promising free-kick as the Chennai man clattered the Northeast man with force.
12' - Al-Amna tries to find Katsumi Yusa on the flank after making a good run through the middle but the former Bagan man loses it and Chennai recover.

East Bengal will be looking to climb above their arch-rivals Mohun Bagan in the I-League table, as they travel to Coimbatore to face Chennai City FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, today.
The Red and Golds have been in a mixed bag of form this season, with heir head coach Khalid Jamil reportedly being under immense pressure from the club management. They had a poor start to the season, after being held 2-2 at home by Aizawl FC, followed by a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Mohun Bagan. However, a 5-1 victory over Shillong Lajong and a 3-2 victory over bottom club Churchill Brothers seem to have brought their season back on track, to some extent.
Meanwhile, Chennai City FC have been struggling to find form this season, having lost three of their five matches. Perhaps the most embarrassing of these losses was their 3-0 defeat on the opening day against the Indian Arrows, a side that comprises of U17 and U19 players. However, Chennai have managed to get their season back on track to some extent, with a 2-0 win against Churchill Brothers in their last match.
