A brace from William Opoku Asiedu lifts Minerva Punjab FC to the top of the I-League standings in a well-contested contest. The youngsters of Indian Arrows put in a spirited showing on the evening as they didn't meekly surrender to the visibly physical side that the Punjabis fielded.

70' - Minerva have been playing a high line of defense as the Arrows try to catch them through their speed. Sukhdev Singh has gone down in what looks like a cramp as the physio attends to him.

63' - Arrows have slowly begun to take an attacking intent to their game as they have constantly pressed on the Minerva goal with attacks from the right side using the pace of Boris Singh well.

The young Indian Arrows put on a commendable performance in the first half after Minerva Punjab FC took an early lead through William Asiedu through a well-taken shot from outside the box.

35' - A well-orchestrated move on the left wing sees Rahul through in the box and he tries to turn the defender but the ball deflects for a corner. Good play from the Arrows.

30' - Arrows have the first meaningful attack as Sarkar is put through by a Edmund but his shot is weak and doesn't concern Dagar in the Minerva goal.

29'- CHANCE!! Sukhdev Singh puts in a long throw-in which is headed by Dano but Dheeraj palms it over for a corner.

27' - An attempted aerial through ball into the Arrows half but Dheeraj Singh comes off his line to make a clearance. Another throw-in for the Punjab side.

25' - Boris is active again on the right flank as he is put through by Aniket but Ambekar is up close with him and clears for a throw-in.

21' - Minerva have looked comfortable on the ball with good pressure on the youngsters as the game has progressed.

17' - The Arrows have been trying to attack Minerva on the right flank with the speed of Boris Singh and Rahul but the giant figure of Dano in the Minerva defence will be tough to crack for the lads.

14' - Corner for the Indian Arrows as a miscommunication between Rakshit Dagar and Abhishek Ambekar leads to a clearance despite nobody on the heels of the defender.

11' - The game has been at a slow tempo with Minerva not allowing the youngsters any space and closing them down taking advantage of their physicality.

6' - GOALL!!! Minerva have taken the lead. A stunner from William Asiedu. The ball falls to William at the top of the box after a failed clearance and he takes a volleyed shot that beats Dheeraj in goal. Incredible goal by the visitors.

5' - Boris Singh makes a run on the right and crosses a low ball in but Dano clears it away for safety.

3' - A free-kick for Minerva Punjab early in the game but the young Arrows clear the delivery and Edmund breaks for a counter but his heavy touch allows Minerva to regain possession.

The reason for the stoppage is that the floodlights of the stadium have gone off and thus, the referee has stopped the game. We wait for the lights to come on as the players wait in anticipation.

2' - There has been some interruption in the match as the ref has stopped play and the players are just kicking the all around.

1' - And we're off!! The Arrows kick off proceedings here in Goa as they take on the Punjabi side who are experienced and in good form.

The Indian Arrows will be missing their U-17 World Cup starts - Jeakson Singh, Anwar Ali and Nongdamba Naorem as they have been brought on loan from their parent side Minerva Punjab FC and their contract states that they can't face Minerva.

Both the sides are coming into the match on the back of victories - Indian Arrows, beginning their I-League season off to a flying start defeating Chennai City FC with a 3-0 scoreline thanks to a brace from Aniket Jadhav. Minerva Punjab FC, on the other hand won against newly promoted side NEROCA FC with a 2-1 score at home in Ludhiana.
