Tursunov opened the match with an exciting goal in the first thirty seconds of the match and TRAU dominated the first half but Real Kashmir FC came out in the second half and put on an impressive display as Mason Roberston equalized from a Sena Ralte free-kick with 20 minutes left on the clock. Lukman Abefemi could have won the match in injury time but hit his shot wide from 10 yards very disappointingly for his teammates.
Helder has been awarded the 'Hero of the Match' award for his impressive display on the field for TRAU FC.

HALF TIME!! TRAU FC lead 1-0 over Real Kashmir FC at the half-time break and the Imphal-based side have been impressive throughout the first half and certainly deserve the lead given to them by one of the quickest goals in the league's history scored by Komron Tursunov.

Real Kashmir FC won the IFA Shield 2020 and although the competition was missing some of the usual big names, Mason Robertson lifting up the shield was an indicator of the Kashmir-based club to be one of the major favorites to lift the I-League trophy along with Punjab FC and Gokulam Kerala FC.

The first day of I-League action served us three entertaining matches where we saw Mohammedan FC enjoying a happy return to the competition with a 1-0 win over Sudeva Delhi FC. Punjab FC defeated Aizawl FC 1-0 in the 4 pm encounter before Chennai City FC took home the bragging rights in the Southern Derby as they defeated Gokulam Kerala FC 2-1 courtesy of two splendid goals.
