So Hardik Pandya IS the Joginder Sharma of the 2016 World T20! Who would've thought lightning would strike twice? Only Dhoni.

Musghfiqur got it to 2 of 3 balls and then it all went pear shaped for Bangladesh. Rahim departed, Mahmudullah departed and the Dhoni beat Mustifizur's sprint and Bangladesh departed.

Memories of that epic 1999 semifinal between Australia and South Africa have been rekindled; this wasn't much different from Lance Klusener's brain-freeze with 1 to win off 2 balls.

Is this the best finish ever to a T20I game? It's easy to get carried away, but when we look back on it I feel we WILL include it in the most improbable of finishes, if not the highest quality one. All Bangladesh had to do was connect with the ball and run, and they failed to do it on 3 consecutive deliveries. You can't script this kind of stuff!

Need water please, need something to lie down on. This was an amazing heist.

But the Indians won't care, because they have got a real lifeline in this tournament. 10 minutes ago they looked down and out, with little to suggest they had it in them to hold their nerve in those last 3 deliveries. But hold their nerve they did, and how!

Was this a choke by Bangladesh? Judging by the quality of the bowling, it certainly was. Their two experienced batsmen - Mahmudullah and Mushfiqur - had no business trying to heave the ball out of the ground, as Sunil Gavaskar has been repeatedly pointing out. The Bangladeshis will be kicking themselves for this loss.

Dhoni and his men can barely contain their joy, and you can see why. This was a classic case of snatching victory from the jaws of defeat.

19.6 Pandya to Shuvagata, panic here and the third umpire says it is OUT. What scenes here. What performance by young Hardik PANDYA. Bowls it wide and Shuvagata misses and Dhoni runs and hits the stumps. Fantastic turn around.

India hang on in the tournament by the slimmest of margins, and the whole country is celebrating! Well I'm not sure about the whole country, but the whole of Chinnaswamy certainly is. What an atmosphere!

India have won an absolute humdinger of a contest! This was absolutely electrifying stuff. Who could have predicted this result with 2 runs to win from 3 balls? Insane!!!

The Bangladeshi batsmen ran for a bye, and as the replay shows, it's a run out!

Memories of the Rohit Sharma no-ball incident from last year's World Cup come flooding back, as the slow-motion replay showed the full toss coming close to the batsman's waist. But it was clearly below the waist, so no controversies here!

19.5 Pandya to Mahmudullah, OUT, what drama here, panic, full toss and Mahmudullah skies a ball where Jadeja completes a super catch. That was not a no-ball.

Great drama at the Chinnaswamy! That wasn't the best delivery, but Mahmudullah went for the glory shot in a rush of blood. That could well cost Bangladesh big time!

"It's all a question of nerves," says Gavaskar.

From the Indian perspective, it's absolutely essential that Pandya finds the yorker on the next 2 deliveries. Bangladesh, on the other hand, will look to scamper for a run the moment the ball touches the bat.

Pandya redeems himself a little with that wicket. But again, is it too little too late for the Indians? Just 2 runs needed now, with 2 deliveries to go.

19.4 Pandya to Rahim, OUT, bangs it in and Rahim goes for the pull and Dhawan completes the catch at midwicket.

Another poor ball from Pandya though - length on the leg stump.

Rahim started celebrating the moment that ball went past Dhoni. They know they are almost home now!

Bangladeshi fans' hearts must have been in their mouths as the ball went in the direction of the cover fielder. But turns out it was far away for any chance of a catch, and it speeds away to the boundary. Quite a bad delivery by Pandya though, it must be said. You cannot bowl length at this stage!

Lots of changes being ordered by Dhoni. He clearly wants to get everything perfectly right.

Advantage India, as Bangladesh managed just a single off the first ball. It's always crucial to start the over on a good note in such situations.

This is a cliff-hanger and India will have to believe. Pandya will bowl the final over. Bangladesh still the favourites with Mahmudullah on strike.

Tension, tension tension - 11 to win off the last over, and all cricket fans in the subcontinent (including in Pakistan) are probably on the edge of their seats right now.

Yorkers or full tosses - that's all that Bumrah has bowled in the last two overs. And he's been rewarded for his efforts too - the batsmen haven't been able to take more than a single off any of his deliveries.
