Good afternoon and welcome to the Sportskeeda liveblog of the 2018 India Open second round. Saina Nehwal is the fourth seed at this tournament and is looking to win the India Open for the third time in her career. After the kind of form that she showed at the Indonesia Masters last week, she definitely can. Saina beat three top-10 players on her way to reaching the final, where she lost to the World No. 1 Tai Tzu Ying.

The World No. 12 faces the 42nd ranked Line Højmark Kjaersfeldt of Denmark in her quest for a quarter-final berth at the 2018 India Open today. They have met just once and Saina won that match at the French Open first round last year. But the young Dane did give her a tough fight and even snatched a game from her before the former World No. 1 completed the win in three games.

Saina thus cannot afford to take her opponent lightly today.
