Bagawati: Afghanistan should take this a lesson and move forward. Maybe too much of emotions heading into the Test, the struggles. Ashwin cleans up the last man. What an emphatic victory this for Team India. Afghanistan's Test debut lasts little less than two days. That's not a great start but certainly plenty of experience.
Bagawati: Rahane said that India will be ruthless and they have been. What a clinical performance this from Team India. There was only one team out on the park and that was Indis
Aadya: Rashid was using the sweep effectively to fuller balls - Jadeja pushed him on the backfoot off the first ball itself, and followed it with another one that shot into the stumps
Aadya: Shahidi paused for a second and a half before facing the ball from Ashwin, surveying the leg side for a vacant space. As soon as he got a shorter one he pulled it to the empty mid-wicket region. Smart batting!
Aadya: Umesh is back to bowl. Three slips for him. No one near the bat. The two batsmen seem to have got their eye in, and are moving their feet more now. Stanikzai is still shuffling on the back foot the moment the ball is released.
Aadya from the stadium: The Indians are patting Karthik's back. It was his call to take the review. Now the crowd is echoing the sentiment, chanting 'DK, DK'.
Vignesh from desk: Yes, the fans watching the match on TV certainly heard something on the lines of "we can go, worst case will be umpire's call" from the stump-mic.
Aadya: Dhawan does his trademark celebration, and is engulfed by his teammates. The replays of Dhawan on the big screen bring out cheers from the crowd.
Aadya: The players are out, followed by the Afghan batsmen. The burly Shahzad has a small chat with Jadeja as he walks out. Three slips are back in place for him.
Aadya: Ishant is back on the field, with the rest of the players slowly trickling out. The tall pacer is warming up, rolling his arm over along with Umesh Yadav.
Aadya - Ashwin takes the fifth wicket for the hosts by turning the ball enough to slip through the defences of the skipper. Fans must be hoping Nabi will bring some stability, to this tumbling innings.
Aadya - Ishant is making Stanikzai play, there are two slips and a gully, there's a short cover and a mid-off. There's also Pandya at third man. Pandya to bowl
Aadya - Shahzad living on the 'edge' at the moment. Two streaky boundaries, and a lot of oohs and aahs in the first over. Ishant could be targeting the batsman with the short one soon. There's a leg gully, helmet and all, in Vijay. No conventional gully.
Aadya - The umpires have made their way to the middle, followed by the fielding team. The Afghan openers are the last ones to enter the field. Umesh Yadav is all set to bowl the first ball. The crowd is on their feet, as Mohammad Shahzad will face the opening ball. Three slipsand a gully, a backward point in Pandya. Vijay at short leg
Aadya - Ishant and Umesh are gently bowling on the side pitch, along with Bharath Arun. The support staff is giving Dinesh Karthik, and the slips: Pujara, Vijay and KL Rahul some catching practice. Hardik Pandya has joined the pace duo and is bowling with his cap on. Jadeja separately bowling on the side pitch, getting his rhythm in. Dinesh Karthik, on the far side, is getting catching lessons.
Aadya - From 318-3 to 474 all out, Afg did well to pull things back in the last session yesterday, but gave away a few extra this morning, letting the lower wag and take the hosts close to 500.
Aadya - Umesh in no mood to defend the loose ones. Out comes a big swipe and sends it to midwicket. He follows it with a gem of a stroke, a lofted extra cover drive that has brought the crowd to its feet.
Wafadar gets his act right on the third ball, directs one right on Umesh's helmet. Somehow fended away.
Umesh being the perfect tail end pinch hitter, tonking the ball around. A feather touch off Ishant, a genuine edge past the keeper, brings up Wafadar's 100.
Manish - Say hello to Test cricket, Afghanistan, say hello to being under the pump and then unraveling in the heat. Sloppy work, they are now looking hassled, are the Afghans. Erratic fielding, miscommunication and plenty of slip ups
Aadya - Jadeja is slowly looking to get the run flow going. After breaking the shackles against Nabi in the last over, he's collected another boundary and looks comfortable against pace.
There's a fly slip in the form of Nabi, to tackle Pandya's ambitious upper cuts.
The move to rile up Pandya seemed to have almost worked. After having ducked to the odd bouncer, Pandya took this one on and almost skied a catch to long leg.
Aadya - Nabi to bowl now, replaces Rashid. Maybe a change of ends for Rashid next over. With only two fielders on the off, Nabi is bowling tight, not giving Pandya any room
