Good afternoon and welcome to the Sportskeeda liveblog of the Asian Archery Championships 2017. The Indian contingent did very well in the compound mixed section with the second seeded team of Abhishek Verma and Jyothi Surekha Vennam reaching the gold medal match.

They had a commanding 157-151 win over seventh seeds Iran in the quarter-finals. In the next stage, they edged the third seeds Chinese Taipei, 154-153 to make their way through to the summit clash.

They next face Korea, who are the top seeds. Suffice to say, it will be a tough encounter.

Although it needs to be remembered that both the Indian archers are used to playing at the highest level of the sport and have the ability to bring out the best in such matches. Jyothi is the defending champion in the individual compound women's section. She was also a part of the Indian women's compound team that created history at the World Championships this year by winning a silver medal.

Verma is a seasoned campaigner with his biggest achievement coming at the 2014 Asian Games where he was a part of the gold medal-winning Indian men's compound team. So, the Indians can definitely deliver under pressure.
