Hence, another Test series comes to an end, and it ends with another win for India. However, the season is far from over. There are bigger challenges that lie ahead for the Indian team as they'll now take on the Kiwis in a five-match ODI series. India limited-overs captain MS Dhoni will be back to lead the side, and it should be a riveting contest between two formidable teams. The first ODI is scheduled for October 16 and it will be held in Dharamsala. We'll be back to bring all the action to your computer screens through our ball-by-ball commentary just like we have been doing throughout the Test series. Till then, please accept a warm goodbye from your commentators Aadya Sharma, Manish Pathak, Kaushal Raj and Kislaya Srivastava.

The 'Test Championship Mace' that is awarded to the No. 1 Test side in the world has been given to Virat Kohli by the legendary batsman and former India captain, Sunil Gavaskar.

The Indian players are now posing with the winners' trophy.

17:14 (IST)11 OCT 2016

Kohli: "I couldn't have asked for anything better. Bowlers have performed magnificently every time we have been under pressure. There were instances in the past where we didn't show the character, but this team has shown character. I asked the batsmen not to hesitate given that we had a healthy lead. Same for the bowlers. It was time for them to express themselves, but at the same time not to let the game slip away. Lower order has contributed well. Saha and Jadeja's knocks in the first test, Rohit's knocks lower down the order, all of them have been exceptional. Ashwin has been a champion. I hope he can keep going throughout the series and keep us at the top."

17:09 (IST)11 OCT 2016

Williamson: "We certainly wanted to show better cricket than we did, but couldn't. It was important that we got big runs in the first innings, but we didn't, all credit to India. The positive side to being exposed to such a good bowling attack is that you get to learn so many things. As a young group coming here, it is unfortunate that we couldn't perform as well, and we'll take a lot of positives from the series."

17:07 (IST)11 OCT 2016

Ashwin is the Man of the Series as well!

17:07 (IST)11 OCT 2016

Ashwin: "I'd like to thank the crowd at Indore who came to support us. There was a little bit of help outside off from the bowler's footmarks. Therefore I bowled a lot outside off stump. Shami, Bhuvi and Umesh, throughout the series have bent their back and have done well when we were not picking wickets. Jaddu, obviously, has been phenomenal. Yes, I feel really good about myself, I have been bowling really well and my confidence is sky-high."

17:04 (IST)11 OCT 2016

Man of the Match: Ravichandran Ashwin!

17:03 (IST)11 OCT 2016

JANA Bankable Player of the Match: Virat Kohli!

17:01 (IST)11 OCT 2016

Time for the post-match presentation.

16:55 (IST)11 OCT 2016

END OF THE MATCH: (India won by 321 runs) Another formidable victory for India and once again, it was Ashwin who led them to it in many ways than one. Six wickets in the first innings, seven in the second and a total of 27 wickets in the series makes him a contender for the Man of the Series award. Cheteshwar Pujara's contribution should not be forgotten either, who hit a magnificent century in the second innings to help India build a lead of 474 runs. Gambhir's fifty on his Test return was heartening as well. Kohli and Rahane hit their respective career-best scores of 211 and 188 to help India scale up a massive total of 557 in the first innings.

All in all, a comprehensive Test match victory for India, and this win has also taken them to the pinnacle of the ICC Test Rankings. India are now the No. 1 Test side in the world.
