This has been a fabulous game of hockey here in Lucknow and you have to feel for Spain here. However, India were on the attack from the beginning and it was only a matter of time before India took the lead.

...

FULL TIME India 2-1 Spain

...

It is over and India have qualified for the Semi-FInal

...

70' India keep the ball. Just seconds remain.

...

69' India have had 10 shots on target and deserve the lead. Just under two minutes remain in the match. Spain are down to 10 men as well. India now trying to control the game by keeping possession.

...

67' WHAT A RUN by HARMANPREET there. He wins India another penalty corner. Almost another goal but it is saved.

...

FINALLY... Harmanpreet comes good to score his third of the tournament. India well and truly on the top.

...

66' Simranjeet injects and HARMANPREET SCORESSSSSSSSS

...

65' India pile the pressure on and win a penalty corner. Santa injects but its saved. India win another penalty corner. Varun Kumar takes the shot but Perez keeps Spain alive. Another penalty corner and Spain are furious.

...

62' India are moving forward now and smelling blood. Around 8 minutes remain in the game and the stadium is buzzing. What an aerial ball from Harmanpreet but amounts to nothing.

...

60' Spain now trying to move forward and score a goal but India are doing really well to defend. Spain lose ball in India's half and India start a counter but Tarres prevents the ball.

...

58' India have deservedly equalised this contest and the goal has been coming for a long time. Can they now go on and get the winner? Momentum is certainly on their side.

...

GOOOOOOOALLLLLLLLLL SIMRANJEET SCORESSSSS

...

56' India win another penalty corner.

...

55' The advantage for India is that Spain are leading only by one goal and they can score anytime to come back in the game. However, they would not want to leave it too late.

...

53' Spain have managed to dominate the game in the past couple of minutes and they have pressured the Indian players. Harmanpreet shows great vision but the forward cannot turn it in.

...

51' Gonzalez has been a rock for Spain today and led them from the front. Fabulous display from him. India rotating passes but Spain have kept them quiet. A moment of magic required here.

...

50' Just over 20 minutes remain in the game and India are still trailing. The pressure will increase as the clock runs down and Spain are getting more men behind the ball.

...

47' Penalty corner to India. Santa injects it but it is mistrapped once again. India have not done well here with penalty corners.

...

46' Some nice combination work by Harmanpreet and Simranjeet results in India winning a penalty corner. Harmanpreet shoots but it is saved but India get another one.

...

45' Harjeet threads a beautiful pass into the circle but Manpreet's shot is saved.Spain survive again.

...

43' Spain are closing down India really well here and letting them keep the ball without being threatening. Their defending has been immaculate tonight.

...

41' India need to maintain their composure here and start being a little more decisive in the Spanish circle.

...

39' Spain gain a bit of momentum by passing the ball around but lose possession. India attack again and a long pass played into the circle ends up in Spain getting a free hit.

...

37' Mandeep Singh gets us underway and he passes the ball to Harjeet as India look to find an equaliser. The forward line needs to step up.

...

The second half is just moments away.

...

India need to calm down and the goal will come anyway.

...

HALF TIME India 0-1 Spain

...

35' The first half ends with India squandering another attack in the final third. Spain lead 1-0.

...

34' Sumit makes a run and smashed it in the goal but no touch and it means nothing. India are trying everything out here but Spain are maintaining status quo. Armaan picks up the ball and passes it across but they lose control. A minute remains.

...

32' India surging forward continuously in search of that equaliser but things are not looking good as no concrete chances are being created. Three minutes remain.

...

30' Five minutes remain in the first half as India almost concede again. India are having lapses of concentration here. They need to beware and do not want to concede again.

...

28' This is going to be a big test for India and show what they are made of. A big pressure match and a knockout as well. Spain have done what they do best - take chances when they come. Simranjeet brings it back into the circle but ball goes out of play.

...

25' GOAL for India? NOOOOO!!!! It is disallowed. Almost there. Mandeep turns it in but it does not count.

...

22' Spain win a penalty corner courtesy an excellent run by Bolto. Can they take advantage? PARRILLA SCORESSSS GOOOALLLLL
Excellent goal from Spain and they make full use of penalty corner.

...

20' Sumit places a brilliant pass to Dipsan, who returns a beautiful ball to his teammate but they cannot penetrate the circle this time. Another attack begins and this time it is Sumit's run that goes out of play.

...

18' India lacking awareness in the final third and need to be more relaxed. Too much emphasis on quick play and passes. Roelant Oltmans and Harendra Singh looking on from the sidelines.

...

17' Spain, so far, have managed to stay in the game and have not conceded. Spain take a shot and the ball goes into the goal but there is no touch from an attacking player.

...

15' Just looks like India are in a bit of a hurry here and need to slow down to gain more control and create concrete chances. So far so good for Spain but they lose the ball and Santa Singh makes a run but his pass is too heavy.

...

13' Some great stick work there from Sumit on the wings in the Spanish half. The ball is driven into the Spanish circle but goes across the face of the goal. Fabregas makes a great run in the Indian circle but it is defended well.

...

11' This is shaping up to be a cracking contest with India enjoying more of the possession and certainly attacking more, albeit not getting any returns. Spain attack but some great resilience by Indian defence.

...

9' Spanish defence cannot handle India at the moment as an aerial ball results into a penalty corner. INJECTED and SAVED. What a shot by Kumar. Perez channelises his inner David De Gea to save Spain.

...

7' Spain now taking the game to India and have managed to breach the circle but Dipsan intercepts and gives it to Harjeet, who cannot get past Spanish defenders.

...

5' Great passing from Armaan Qureshi to Parwinder, who threads it to Harjeet and India win a penalty corner. IT IS miscontrolled by Harjeet and India do not get a shot. Spain get away.

...

3' Harjeet loses the ball Spain begin attacking India on the wings but the ball goes out of play. Great start from Spain and they are looking quite positive. Parwinder wins a long corner for India. Varun drives the ball inside but it is deflected.

...

1' Spain start right away with an aerial ball but the ball goes out of play. India have the ball back and are looking to string together a few passes.

...

Let's go!!!!!

...

The national anthems being played.

...

The teams are out on the turf with Spain wearing red and India wearing blue. This promises to be a cracker.

...

This has been an excellent tournament for India and they would like to continue their form. The crowd seems to be settling in ahead of this game. Plenty of tri-colour flags flying around Lucknow's Major Dhyan Chand Stadium.

...

We are around 15 minutes away from the start and these are the starting line-ups for both teams.

Hello friends and welcome to Sportskeeda's live coverage of the 2016 Hockey World Cup and we have the quarter-finals today for you. Hosts India take on Spain in this knock-out clash, which will decide who takes the last remaining spot in the final four of the tournament. Earlier in the day Belgium and England won their respective clashes to setup a semi-final clash while Australia defeated Netherlands to make the final four. The winner of this game will play the boys from Down Under tomorrow .

India will surely enter this match as favourites, having won all three of their matches in the group stages. Spain, on the other hand, have managed to reach the quarter-finals on the back of a mixed bag, winning only one of their three games. Harendra Singh's boys have wreaked havoc on opponents with some stunning fast-paced high-octane hockey but have been a little susceptible to conceding goals. Today will be a big test for Harjeet Singh and Co.
