Zimbabwe started off cautiously, but lost two quick wickets. Sibanda then unleashed some fluent strokes to get the chase going. After that, Moor took charge, but the spinners put the brakes in the middle overs. Timycen Maruma, with a quick cameo, almost took the hosts past the line, but was unable to hit the last ball for a boundary to give India a series victory.
