India had more shots than their opponents, didn't take their chances, and then were hit with two sucker punches by a Tajik side that were superbly organised in defence and sprightly on the break.

That's another qualification campaign done, for India, then. There's work to be done.

49' Another long ball towards Rahim is half-cleared by the Tajik defence, and it's fallen to Sahal on the edge of the box. His left-footed volley is sweetly struck, but it's gone wide.

48' India have gone a little more direct at the start of this second half. They're looking to hit Rahim Ali with early long ball, but so far, not one ball has been anywhere near the striker.

India have had chances. India didn't take them. India didn't defend well for one moment. They conceded. That was the story of the first game against Uzbekistan, in the first half. That's been the story today. Mountain to climb after the restart.

42' Chhangte's been taken down in the box, and he looks to the ref for a penalty. but the assistant's flag has gone up, and Tajikistan have a free-kick. Chhangte was offside, correct decision.

38' Sahal wins the ball high up, and then plays a one-two with Thapa. Sahal cuts it on to his left foot, and then looks to curl it into the far post, but it's gone wide.

37' Chhangte skins his man on the left wing, after receiving a pass from Vinit Rai. His cross is towards Komal at the far-post, but the Tajik defender clears it out for an India throw-in.

36' Another chance for Tajikistan after the Indian defence allows the ball to keep bouncing. In the end, though, Muhammadjon's meek shot is straight at Dheeraj.

33' Tajikistan have a free-kick in the middle of the park, after Vinit Rai jumps in late on Rahimov Muhammadjon

30' GOAL! Tajikistan have taken the lead!

A cross from the right wing, was not cleared by Gaurav Bora, and then fell to Yodgorov Daler on the far post. He took it down on his chest, cut back onto his right foot, and beat Dheeraj at the far post.

29' Karomatullo strikes the free-kick and clear the wall. But he's cleared Dheeraj's goal by a fair distance as well.

28' Another Tajik free-kick on the edge of the box. Again it's Sahal with the foul. Sahal himself gave the ball away in midfield, and then in an attempt to win it back, concedes the foul.

27' Komal! Another huge chance for India! A long throw from Nishu isn't cleared well enough by the Tajik defence, and Komal is onto the second ball in a flash. Brings it down with his chest, and then lashes a left-footed volley, but that's gone high.

25' Thapa's corner is bent towards the goalkeeper, and that's been punched away.

24' Chhangte! He gets on the end of a lovely crossfield pass from Bora, and then plays a low cross in towards Rahim, but that's been cleared by the defender. India have a corner.

24' Long ball by Anwar towards Rahim, and he harries the Tajik defenders into an error, but the danger is cleared by the centre-back. India have a throw-in.

23' Panshanbe whips a superb free-kick in, and it's on target. Dheeraj is there to palm it over his bar

22' Tajikistan have another free-kick just on the edge of the box. And it's another needless foul from Sahal

20' India have been sloppy at the back. Both Dheeraj and Sarthak have been awful with their attempted passes out of the back
