With these memories the time has come to bid goodbye. It has been a pleasure to bring to you the ball by ball updates of the Indian Premier League 2016 and we hope that you enjoyed the coverage. It was tiring and exhausting at times, but we loved each and every moment of the games that we covered for you. The cricket season has just begun and we have plenty of matches from international cricket lined up for you. We hope to have your support and interest as we bring all the live action from various cricket matches straight to your computer screens. Until next time, it's Kislaya, Manish, Kaushal, Aadya and Srihari signing off.
...
YUVRAJ SINGH does the BHANGRA on the stage, DHAWAN flexes his moustache, and the Sunrisers are on Cloud 9!
...
Finally, after 17 games and close to two months, we have a Champion. The SUNRISERS HYDERABAD lift the IPL trophy!
...
David Warner collects the winning cheque: "It is a fantastic team achievement. I was happy that I led by example with the runs. They have a phenomenal squad. Look at the way Virat Kohli led from the front. The boys batted, bowled and fielded well. We were true underdogs. The boys batted, bowled and fielded well. And off the field, the support staff, the marketing team, everyone deserves credit. "
...
Virat Kohli: "This is for the people of Bangalore. Gutted for them, we did not win it for them. I think the wicket was nice and one partnership would have been better. AB and I got out together, it set us back. I felt I was under control. Would like to congratulate Sunrisers."
...
Daniel Vettori collects the runners-up trophy.
...
Virat Kohli wins the MOST VALUABLE PLAYER.
...
Bhuvneshwar Kumar wins the PURPLE CAP award. 23 wickets for him this season.
...
Virat Kohli with the ORANGE CAP. 973 runs this season. The crowd cheer him on: ""It's a nice incentive for the way we've got about this season, but not that nice to be standing on the other side of the result. The reason why SRH won was because they had a strong bowling attack. Previous 770 odd was thought to be massive. We have to consider that I opened the batting and someone batting at No. 3 or down the order would not have had that much opportunities to score big."
...
Suresh Raina wins the CATCH OF THE SEASON OF THE AWARD.
...
Virat Kohli gets an award for scoring the most number of sixes (38) in the season.
...
Mustafizur Rahman wins the EMERGING PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARD.
...
Sunrisers Hyderabad win the fair play award.
...
Ben Cutting is the MAN OF THE MATCH: "It was exciting to play in front if this crowd. IT was set up by David Warner. Good to hit a few in the middle of the bat. Bhuvi and Fizz finished off well in the end."
...
Time for the presentation.
...
Yuvraj Singh: "It's great. Had the World Cup and now have the IPL trophy too. Gayle was going strong but a few wickets let us in. Great finish by Bhuvneshwar in the end. I am happy with the win and as long as the trophy comes, it's good. Great team effort from the boys."
...
Shikhar Dhawan: "A great season for me and for the team. Davy lead us from the front, hats off to him. Great support from the support staff and all the players. I think our team is quite balanced. We did not start well, but managed to gain momentum through the journey."
...
"I had to keep myself composed. I knew if I get it right, it will be difficult to score runs. Yorkers are the best way to stop runs," says Bhuvneshwar Kumar who bowled beautifully at the death.
...
The SRH players are out there in a huddle, jumping and singing in jubilation. Some celebration there at the Chinnaswamy.
...
The RCB team is doing a walk of appreciation around the Chinnaswamy stadium, thanking the fans for their support.
...
The Orange Army has invaded the field. The SRH camp is ecstatic. It's all gloomy in the RCB camp, though. The Sunrisers are pumping and jumping out there in the middle, while Baby was almost into tears before the last ball was bowled. Warner has been absolutely phenomenal in the tournament and he is visibly on the moon, Hugs and handshakes all around. For those who are heartbroken for Virat Kohli, here is a reminder: YUVRAJ has WON the IPL for the FIRST time!
...
So the Sunrisers Hyderabad are the new champions of the Indian Premier League. David Warner is pumped and Virat Kohli is disconsolate. The IPL has given us new heroes, and this time it is for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. They have fought back with some aplomb.
...
For SRH, it was a day to remember for Ben Cutting and after his heroics with the bat he snuffed out two wickets and kept things quiet. And then it was all going to be tough against Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mustafizur Rahman at the death.
...
The best bowling side in the tournament kept their calm and kept dealing crucial blows at the right time. The chase derailed after Virat Kohli was dismissed
...
Both got to whirlwind half-centuries but got out at crucial moments. For once AB de Villiers did not contribute enough and was dismissed cheaply. Rahul and Shane Watson too did not anything substantial.
...
If any side could have chased this score it would have been RCB. They got off to a flier and Chris Gayle got off like a train. Virat Kohli gave him good support who too got into his groove. They were 114/0 at one stage.
...
19.6 Bhuvneshwar to Abdulla, FOUR! SRH WIN the IPL! Full ball on the leg stump, Abdulla walks across the ramps the ball over fine leg for a boundary, but to no use. What a comeback by the Sunrisers. They are the IPL champions for the 1st time!
...
Sachin Baby is in tears!
...
19.5 Bhuvneshwar to Baby, 1 run, low full toss outside off, cut to Yuvraj at backward point for a single.
...
19.4 Bhuvneshwar to Abdulla, 1 run, leg bye, full ball on the leg stump, hits him on the pads outside the line of leg stump and goes towards the leg side.
...
19.3 Bhuvneshwar to Baby, Jordan has been RUN OUT! Full ball, a yorker in between the legs of Baby, and goes to the keeper. They started to take a bye but Naman Ojha was alert, He collected the ball and hit the stumps directly from his position. Jordan was way short of his ground.
...
19.2 Bhuvneshwar to Baby, 2 runs, low full toss again, on middle and off, Baby sits down on one knee and sweeps it uppishly towards square leg for a couple.
...
19.1 Bhuvneshwar to Jordan, 1 run, low full toss on middle, Jordan smashes that towards long on for a single.
...
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to bowl the final over of this year's IPL.
...
18 runs required from the final over. Mustafizur standing there stunned.
...
18.6 Mustafizur to Baby, SIX! Full ball outside off, and Baby gets underneath the ball and heaves it over the bowler's head, down the ground for a maximum. 18 needed off 6 now. Is the game still on?
...
18.5 Mustafizur to Baby, 2 runs, high full toss, smashed back down the ground for a couple. David Warner desperate at long on. Runs at full pelt from long in, slides, saves the ball and the parries it to the man at long off.
...
18.4 Mustafizur to Jordan, 1 run, leg bye, full toss, a low one on the leg stump, hits Jordan outside the line of leg stump, and deflects towards short midwicket.
...
18.3 Mustafizur to Jordan, no run, angled across, back of a length, Jordan swings across the line, and misses the ball.
...
18.2 Mustafizur to Jordan, 2 runs, DROPPED! First ball, back of a length, Jordan looks to heave over mid-wicket, gets an edge, and Sran drops it deep cover. Barinder Sran shells the catch, Warner just looks away. Will this be costly?
...
Chris Jordan walks in. He can strike some lust blows.
...
18.1 Mustafizur to Binny, 1 run, OUT! Full ball, just outside off, Binny smashes it to long on and decides to take two runs instead of one. The throw comes in from long on and Binny was short of his ground at the striker's end. For some strange reason Binny was looking at the throw and was not charging, this has cost him. RCB once again pegged back. But that was a great throw from Deepak Hooda.
...
30 needed from the last 2. This match is far from over.
...
17.6 Bhuvneshwar to Baby, FOUR! Good improvisation by Baby. Full ball on leg stump, Baby sits down on one knee and reverse sweeps it just out of the reach of the man at short third man position for a boundary. RCB still in the hunt.
...
17.5 Bhuvneshwar to Binny, 1 run, leg bye, tried the ramp shot, but couldn't connect. Hit on the pads outside off stump and goes towards short third man.
...
Sensational bowling from Bhuvi, pin point yorkers. What a tournament it has been for him.
...
17.4 Bhuvneshwar to Binny, no run, full ball, a yorker once again, on middle stump. Binny squeezes it back to the bowler.
...
17.3 Bhuvneshwar to Baby, 1 run, low full toss outside off, misses his yorker, Baby smashes it to long on for a single.
...
17.2 Bhuvneshwar to Binny, 1 run, another full ball, almost a yorker outside off, squeezed towards long on for a single.
...
17.1 Bhuvneshwar to Binny, no run, what a yorker, right at the base of the leg stumps. Just outside it infact.
