Mumbai held on till the end, but Gujarat were good when it mattered more and they are now well on top after having won all of their games. They look strong and well rounded, and have become a force to reckon with. Mumbai will have to ponder over what went wrong and it is their batting that should be sorted out first.

Aaron Finch is the player of the match. 3rd consecutive time: " It was just cramps, the heat was oppressive. Nice to get ourselves over the line, and it was nice to bat through. What a thriller that was. At the halfway stage, it looked as though MI did not have enough but a decent start meant they were in the game. But when Raina and Finch were batting, it looked as though it was done and dusted by Mitchell McClenaghan kept his side in the game until the last over. Needing 11 off the last over, it was a battle of nerves and it was Finch that emerged victorious as Bumrah couldn't keep it under control and the Lions sealed a last-ball victory to make it three wins in a row.
