That's all from us today. Absolute cracker of a game, thoroughly enjoyable! We'll be back tomorrow with coverage of the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad & Mumbai Indians. Till then, good bye and good night.
...
MOTM Quinton de Kock said, "I was hoping for one of these days to come, it was a good wicket so I was hoping to capitalize. We knew good cricket shots will get us the score, we tried to get boundaries and run the twos. Karun came in and the plan was to build a partnership. I haven't been in this kind of form for such a stretch, I'm happy about it."
...
The man of the match is Quinton de Kock.
...
Winning captain Zaheer Khan said, "Special effort by Quinton and Karun. Special mention has to go to Morris and Shami who held it together towards the end, told them to bowl back of a length. We wanted early wickets, RCB is a very top heavy squad. Our guys showed great character today. We have ticked one more box today, we are going to enjoy our 3 - 4 days off now.
...
Virat Kohli wins the award for the maximum sixes, with 3.
...
Losing captain, Virat Kohli said: "We were going really well, Watto got out, I didn't get strike, made a difference of 15 - 20 runs. QDK took the game away from us, Karun hung in well too. We thought we could get to 210, they bowled well however towards the end, especially Shami, Morris & Brathwaite. No one really stepped up with the ball, it happens in cricket, we got to learn from this. We need to change our mindset when we bowl, we need to believe we can pick up wickets when we bowl and field."
...
Great game of IPL cricket today. The Royal Challengers Bangalore put 191 on the board. While that sounds like a very high score, it is probably below par nowadays in Bangalore. They managed to score only 27 runs in the last 4 overs of their innings, which has cost them. But still, chasing 192, something special would be needed, and Quinton de Kock provided just that. A 100 that will go down in memory as one of the best. Brathwaite, Morris, Duminy really didn't have to do much.
...
He can't. It's game over. Delhi Daredevils beat the Royal Challengers Bangalore by 7 wickets with 5 balls to spare.
...
19.1 Yuzvendra Chahal to JP Duminy, 1 run, that was tapped back and Chahal collects and flicks it back, misses the stumps and they get across for an overthrow.
...
Chahal to bowl. Can he pick 6 wickets in 6 balls?
...
18.6 Shane Watson to JP Duminy, 1 run, back of a length and it takes the inside edge onto the body and they get a single.
...
Watson's been the only bright spot in RCB's bowling today, rewarded with the wicket of de Kock.
...
18.5 Shane Watson to JP Duminy, 2 runs, full ball guided to wide of sweeper cover for an easy brace.
...
18.4 Shane Watson to JP Duminy, FOUR, down the track and smashes the ball through he extra cover region for a boundary. The outfield is rapid and the fielder had no chance.
...
18.3 Shane Watson to JP Duminy, no run, dabbed to point. What was Karun doing, he rushed ahead but Duminy sent him back.
...
JP Duminy comes in to bat.
...
18.2 Shane Watson to Quinton de Kock, OUT, short ball but that was slower one and de Kock tries to smash that ball, was cramped up and it took the gloves through to the keeper. What a splendid innings but it has come to an end. Good to see Watson applauding the innings. An end to an unbelievable innings, he really has carried this chase from the very first ball. You could see he was tiring, he edged the last ball in the previous over too. 108. 51 balls. 15 fours. 3 sixes. Special, special numbers.
...
18.1 Shane Watson to Karun Nair, 1 run, walks across and dabs it to the leg side.
...
Watson to bowl.
...
Game to forget for Wiese. It all started so well, with that magical catch in the first over. He would wish that the game ended then there though as that's been the only bright spot for him today.
...
17.6 David Wiese to Quinton de Kock, FOUR, full on off and like he has done all day, de Kock smashes that one, that ball scorches the grass and screams into the boundary. Take a bow....
...
17.5 David Wiese to Quinton de Kock, FOUR, full ball on off and de Kock on one knee and tries to smash this, but gets the bottom of the bat to third man..
...
17.5 David Wiese to Quinton de Kock, 1 WIDE, full ball but that was way out of his reach.
...
17.4 David Wiese to Karun Nair, 1 run, driven to extra cover and they rush across for a single.
...
Second youngest to score an IPL 100, QDK. Can't believe he's only 23 with all that he's achieved.
...
17.3 David Wiese to Quinton de Kock, 1 run, CENTURY for young Quinton de Kock, smashed to sweeper cover and he has been amazing today. Takes off his helmet and salutes the crown and his dugout.
...
QDK on 99, even the Bangalore crowd are up..
...
17.2 David Wiese to Karun Nair, 1 run, full toss and driven to long off.
...
17.1 David Wiese to Karun Nair, no run, on a length, slower ball and defeats the timing of Karun, Wiese collects the ball.
...
Wiese to bowl.
...
QDK is pumped and why wouldn't he be after grabbing a crucial boundary off the last ball. On 99 now, what a special innings. RCB need a miracle.
...
16.6 Harshal Patel to Quinton de Kock, FOUR, walks across and then ramps a ball which was on the pads up and over short fine leg and he moves to 99. This is breathtaking batting.
...
16.5 Harshal Patel to Karun Nair, 1 run, clipped to mid-wicket for a single. It should be easy from here on.
...
16.4 Harshal Patel to Karun Nair, no run, walks across again, gets the full toss, but hit it too fine and straight towards the keeper.
...
16.3 Harshal Patel to Quinton de Kock, 1 run, pings in the yorker and he hits it back to Patel who is beaten by the spin and they cross over.
...
50 for Karun Nair! Looked absolutely determined from the time he came to the crease, has been the perfect supporting act for QDK at the other end.
...
16.2 Harshal Patel to Karun Nair, 1 run, dabbed towards short cover for a single. 50 up. Very good innings.
...
16.1 Harshal Patel to Karun Nair, SIX, on a length and Karun kept his shape and timed a length ball over long off. BEAUTIFUL.....
...
12 runs conceded, Karun & Kock looking absolutely in control. They're having a battle between themselves now, both of them feel they should be at the crease! Harshal to bowl.
...
15.6 Sreenath Arvind to Karun Nair, 1 run. dabbed towards Gayle who throws himself at the ball and saves runs. Yes Gayle DIVED.
...
15.5 Sreenath Arvind to Quinton de Kock, 1 run, slower ball, full and de Kock gets the bottom of the bat towards the keeper.
...
15.4 Sreenath Arvind to Quinton de Kock, FOUR, full ball and de Kock threads the gap between the two covers for another boundary. In the 90s now, nothing nervous about it.
...
15.3 Sreenath Arvind to Karun Nair, 1 run, full toss, drilled to wide of long off but they take a single.
...
15.2 Sreenath Arvind to Karun Nair, FOUR walks across gets the ball on the full and then scooped it past the diving keeper.
...
15.1 Sreenath Arvind to Quinton de Kock, 1 run, driven to long off.
...
RCB don't seem to be having any answers now. Don't seem them picking up a wicket unless one of the batsmen conspire to lose their wicket. The bowling line up is lacking fizz. Arvind to bowl.
...
14.6 Shane Watson to Karun Nair, 2 LEG BYES, kisses the pads that goes towards fine leg for a brace.
...
14.5 Shane Watson to Karun Nair, no run, backs away and tries to put it in the gap between point and third man and they cannot get a single.
...
14.4 Shane Watson to Quinton de Kock, 1 run, short and wide, took the bottom of the bat to short third man and they rush across for a single. Oh he was gutted he could not do more.
...
Even if QDK/Karun were to lose their wicket now, it almost seems like the perfect platform for Brathwaite/Morris/Duminy has been set. Sensible cricket should see them easily get over the line.
