Women's T20 Challenge: Supernovas beat Trailblazers in last-ball thriller

Losing captain Smriti Mandhana: It was good to take the match to the final over but we were 10 runs short. Wicket was really slow but 145-150 would have been a good total but in T20 cricket anything can be defended and anything can be defended. I have told harman that I am not playing PS 4 with her for 7 days because you picked up the catch. Suzie helped me a lot in taking the decisions.

Well done to all the women who played in the historic exhibition match at the Wankhede stadium. Hope this is a foundation stone for the women's IPL in the future.

Thanks to Megan Schutt's fine bowling performance backed by some notable contributions with the bat from Harmanpreet Kaur, Sophie Devine, Dani Wyatt, Supernovas beat Trailblazers by three wickets.

Harman gets into the act as she just opens the face of the bat and finds the gap between the backward point and short third man fielder.

Devine gets going with a huge six over the square-leg boundary. This reduced the equation for her team.

Mithali Raj is breathing fire here at the Wankhede. First, she hit a six over long-on, thanks to a proper text-book cricket shot and now, she guides the ball past the backward point fielder for a boundary.

Shikha Pandey comes into the attack and straightaway creates a chance for a caught and bowled. Unfortunately, the ball hit her wrists and went away. To be fair, that was a tough chance for anyone to catch off his/her own bowling.

Jhulan Goswami, arguably the best bowler of all-time, vs Mithali Raj, arguably the best batter of all-time facing off against each other. How often have we seen this in the past?

Nothing much happened after the chance off the first ball and Jhulan completes her second over conceding just seven runs.

Danielle Wyatt skies a Jhulan delivery and it went so high giving the mid-on fielder Beth Mooney enough time to run back and put in a full-stretch dive. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough for her as the ball fell meters away from the Aussie. Wyatt survives.

A steady start for the Supernovas as White Ferns pacer Lea Tahuhu conceded just three runs off her first over.

Trailblazers lost wickets at the top and they couldn't really get going. Despite a valiant effort from Bates and Jemimah Rodrigues, all Trailblazers finish with 129/6. Megan Schutt was the pick of bowlers for Supernovas.
