Gautam Gambhir: I thought we are a good chasing side and we are confident chasing anything. Restricting the opposition to 180 was terrific and the credit needs to go to the bowlers
Robin Uthappa: I've always been strongI have a lot faith in what I'm doing, I'm really confident and am enjoying myself out there. It is very important to respect the momentum we have created for ourselves. Teams tend to fall off in the second half of the tournament, so it is something we spoke about. I am enjoying my keeping, I think MS has set the benchmark for Indian keepers, so i'm slowly but surely getting there. The ball was still gripping, but this wicket got better to bat on in the second innings
Steve Smith: At the halfway point I thought it was a good total. Wicket was reasonably slow and boys did well to get 180. But the dew came in and the wickets sped up. You could see guys were able to hit through the line beautifully. Gauti and Uthappa paced their innings beautifully. Yeah, Stokes was missed, he's a world-class performer but he was injured. We've been dropping a few catches and it's something we have got to change. Not sure whether it's an attitude thing or not. Guys are working on it in training, but just haven't been able to put it together on the field. It can happen sometimes.
The chase was always under control courtesy Gautam Gambhir and Robin Uthappa. Uthappa was severe after being dropped and took the Pune attack to the cleaners. KKR go on top of the table with this victory!
First the cut and then down the track to drive the ball through the covers. Two Boundaries in that over. Gambhir gets a move on! Score: 38/1 after 5 overs
So Pune end with 182/5. It was a innings of two halves, first the openers gave a bright start and then there was a flourish by MS Dhoni, Steve Smith and Dan Christian.
