It is all over for FC Goa as a promising season comes to a disappointing finish. FC Goa would have fancied themselves after going into the half-time break but some poor defending helped Lallianzuala Chhangte and Nerijus Valskis come up with two crucial goals in the early minutes of the second-half. With those two goals literally killing the game, Goa always had a mountain to climb as they had to add four more to their tally to progress to the ISL final. Edu Bedia and Mourtada Fall did come up with a goal each in the last ten minutes but it was always an impossible task to achieve after Valskis had equalised for Chennaiyin FC.

As for Chennaiyin FC, their unbelievable turnaround in this season continues as they have qualified for their 3rd ISL final. They will fancy their chances in the final no matter who they face given their recent form.

48' What a miss from Jackichand Singh! Will this be a telling blow? It was a low cross to which Coro couldn't make any contact while making a turn. The quick Jacki found himself in the middle of the box but he could only scuff the shot in the end. The Manipuri just overran in that situation.

Free-kick for FC Goa but they don't make the best use of it. That brings an end to an absolutely riveting first half. After Lucian Goian's own goal and Mourtada Fall's header put FC Goa ahead in the match, Chennaiyin FC got a little foothold over the game without creating an clear-cut opportunities.
