Antoine Griezmann has issued an apology to the Atletico Madrid fans after the saga regarding his future at the club culminated in him signing an extension. 

"The first thing that I want to do is apologise to the people that misunderstood my statements. I may have expressed myself badly or perhaps some wanted to produce headlines where there weren't any, but since I arrived I have given my all for my club, my team-mates, my coaching staff and I am very happy to return to experience another season with all of you," he said. "I will thank everyone by giving it all on the pitch, like always."

Sevilla president Jose Castro admits that the club is negotiating a deal with Juventus for midfielder Steven N'Zonzi. “We’re in no hurry,” said Castro, according to Football Italia. “We’ll negotiate with Juventus, but we don’t know whether it’ll be this week. I’m not aware of N’Zonzi having an agreement with Juve."
