28' Belgians getting good touches in the midfield but for the time being they haven't been able to thread a goal scoring pass.

24' Belgium with another good display of circle penetration but the Indians manage to get the ball out for a long corner.

21' Harmanpreet takes the shot but the man running out from the goal-line gets his body on the line to avert danger for Belgium.

7' GOAAAL! Beautiful play by Belgium! They take the ball from the left and pass it on to the middle of the D where a simple reverse flick results in the opening goal of the match.

6' India's attack broken down by the Belgian defence before it could become dangerous.

4' The Belgians are playing a high press game and they are right on top of the Indians, closing down the spaces pretty quickly.

The Indian men's hockey team would face the Olympic silver-medalists Belgium in the Blake Park in Tauranga, New Zealand on Thursday at 10:15 am.

India beat Japan as they scored six goals but conceded none to start the five-day series on a good note. Sjoerd Marijne has selected a squad mixed with experience and youth with Manpreet Singh leading the side and PR Sreejesh making a comeback in the squad after a long time for the tour to New Zealand.

The team would like to get some wins under their belt in the first tournament of the year and get some momentum for the upcoming Carrara Commonwealth Games to be held in April this year and the Jakarta Asian Games scheduled for August this year. After facing the 3rd ranked side in the World, the Indian contingent would face the home side.
