In men's singles, World No. 7 Kidambi Srikanth has been handed a relatively easy draw with the likes of Viktor Axelson, Lee Chong Wei, Lin Dan and Shi Yuqi all on the other half. He is going up against Frenchman Brice Leverdez in this match!
Kidambi Srikanth advanced to the quarterfinals after pulling off a win against Taipei’s Wang Tzu Wei in the 2nd round of the USD 700,000 Malaysia Open World Tour super 750 tournament in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday. En route to the quarters, World No 7 Srikanth, who claimed four titles last season, dumped former World No 2 Jan Jorgensen in the first round followed by an easy 22-20, 21-12 win over Wang Tzu Wei who had ousted Sai Praneeth.
The 4th seeded Srikanth is the obvious favourite for this match. The battle between the two should be sight to watch and it is really difficult to predict in whose favour the shuttle cocks would swing before it begins.
