Manpreet Kaur's qualifiers have started, she's thrown a 17.06 m and has finished 23rd, thus crashing out. Jinson Johnson's has finished in the fifth place in his heat, with the time of 1:47.27, hasn't qualified to the next round.

Manpreet will participate in the Women's Shotput Group B which will have 17 other participants apart from her. The other Group also has a total of 18 participants. To progress, Manpreet will either have to cross the Qualifying mark of 18.40 m or finish in the top 12 from among the 36 female athletes in both Groups.
