Pakistan, once more, were superb and the difference in their international rankings did not reflect during the game. They stuck to their guns and the coach is still talking to his plays. Oltmans, on the other hand, shares a moment full of smiles with Sardar.

A huge victory from India and they are deserving winners of the Asian Champions Trophy. They have been the best team by quite some distance. Pakistan have done a good job and can be proud of their performance. They ran India quite close in a contest that could have gone either way.

Q4 8' India 3-2 Pakistan - Now it is Pakistan's turn to take control. Nikkin is injured and getting treatment on the sidelines. Pakistan play a few long passes and breach the Indian circle but it goes out. Rupinder with a rare strayed pass that hands back possession to Pakistan. They need to create an attack or this game will go from their hand.

Q4 4' India 2-2 Pakistan - From what it looks like, Pakistan have decided to play this contest on the counter and are happy to sit back. India need to take control of this game. Sardar wins the ball but there are so many men behind already, he cannot do anything. This is a great setup by Pakistan.
Q4 2' India 2-2 Pakistan - Pakistan start the final quarter and what else, it is an aerial ball. They are sticking to their guns and India need to do something. A long hit tried by India is blocked well. Pakistan's midfield has stifled the one of their opponents. This is great tactics from the Men in Green. Sardar gets some space and threads a beautiful through pass but Uthappa's run cannot be converted. Pakistan survive.

Q3 15' India 2-2 Pakistan - Sardar wins the ball in the midfield and tries to make a run but Pakistan win the ball back. they attack towards the end but the quarter ends.
Q3 14' India 2-2 Pakistan - If Pakistan can go into the final quarter with scores level or in front, they would be really happy. India have lost the ball quite a few times here. Poor control from Chinglesana. Sardar has not been visible in the third quarter. Pakistan win a free hit and a minute remains.
Q3 13' India 2-2 Pakistan - Rupinder starts play from the back and switch sides with some excellent passes. They have been forced to play long passes due to Pakistan's shape.
Q3 11' India 2-2 Pakistan - India seem to be nervous now and there is a sense of urgency in their game. Chingelsana loses the ball again. Pakistan's strategy of playing deep has worked for them and they are now on top. The curse of the third quarter is haunting India again.
Q3 9' India 2-2 Pakistan - INDIA SCOREEEEEEEE RAMANDEEEP. Hang On. This call is referred by the umpire. Ramandeep has claimed a touch from Kothajit's ball but the umpire refers it upstairs. This is a crucial call. NO GOALL. We are still level. Right decision.

Q3 6' India 2-1 Pakistan - There is no problem for India if they slow down the pace of the game because Pakistan are not looking particularly attacking. No clear cut chance in the third quarter till now.
Q3 4' India 2-1 Pakistan - A lot of aerial balls being played by Pakistan and they are losing the ball again and again. India have gained possession but it is a scratchy period of play at the moment. No team has been able to take an initiative.
Q3 2' India 2-1 Pakistan - Pakistan get us underway in the second half and after a pass to the back. It is again an aerial ball. They hand the ball back to India. Another aerial ball from Pakistan. Looks like they are going to be doing that only.
The second half is set to begin.
India will be looking to continue this momentum and due to Pakistan's shape, would want to win a lot more penalty corners. In my opinion, they wasted a penalty corner by giving it to Jasjit. There is a reason why Rupinder is deadly. Pakistan, on the other hand, should try a little more than those aerial balls. The ball is not being given to Aleem Bilal enough. This promises to be a cracking second half.

This has been a lively half of hockey here from India and Pakistan both. Just when it looked that India would seal the game with 2 goals. Pakistan bounced back with a stunning drag flick from Aleem Bilal, who draws level with his Indian counter part Rupinder.
Q2 15' India 2-1 Pakistan - Two minutes to go before half time and India try to attack. Nice string of passes. Sardar tries a through ball but loses it. Last minute of the first half sees Rupinder attempt a long ball from his half and hands it back to Pakistan, who attempt an aerial pass. HALF TIME.
Q2 13' India 2-1 Pakistan - Jasjit mistimes an aerial pass and hands the ball to Pakistan, who try to attack but lose the ball. Pardeep makes a superb run and puts the ball inside. Nikkin gets the ball and hits the ball with a lot of venom on the reverse. It goes high. He should have passed to Affan though.
Q2 12' India 2-1 Pakistan - That was a marvellous drag flick from Aleem and Akash Chikte had no clue. Pakistan make full use of the one-man advantage and come right back in the contest. This game is still alive. The fireworks are beginning.
Q2 11' India 2-1 Pakistan - This game has come alive and a bit of bad news for India as Walmiki gets a Green Card and is sent off for two minutes. Pakistan have a lot of time to get this game back whereas India can score one more to put things to bed. Pakistan attack and Umar is taken down by Kothajit. PENALTY CORNER to Pakistan. Q2 9' India 2-0 Pakistan - Sardar SINGH YOU BEAUTY. Top class long pass from Sardar and Ramandeep turns it in to give the ball to AFFAN, who makes no mistake. The pressure is on Pakistan now and they do not seem to have any answer.

Q2 6' India 1-0 Pakistan - The goal has infused a much needed sense of energy into the game and India are passing the ball much better. Akashdeep loses the ball in the midfield. Pakistan try to play a long pass but it is of no use. India attack on the counter and Talwinder with a stunning reverse shot but it is wide.
Q2 4' India 1-0 Pakistan - WOW!!!This goal has managed to evoke an emotion from Oltmans as well. STUNNING drag flick by Rupinder who makes use of a superb injection by Ramandeep and smashes it past the Pakistani goalkeeper. India lead and they are confident now.
