Q3 2' India 0-1 South Korea - The Men in Red start the game by trying to attack but the ball is played out. HALF-TIME: India 0-1 South Korea

16:43 (IST)22 OCT 2016

Q2 15' India 0-1 South Korea - Shot from India but it saved. Korea are seeing more of the ball at the end of the first half and this is a worrying sign for India. Oltmans will need to make some tactical changes in the half time. South Korea, on the other hand, will need to keep up the momentum. HALF TIME

16:40 (IST)22 OCT 2016

Q2 12' India 0-1 South Korea - Around 4 minutes remain in the first half and India do not seem to have any answer for Korea's discipline. Korea are happy to not have the ball in unimportant areas. India have now stopped pressing with intensity. Oltmans has some work to do.

16:38 (IST)22 OCT 2016

Q2 10' India 0-1 South Korea - The lack of pace in the Indian midfield is causing them to leave a lot of space and the compactness is not there. South Korea are using the width of the turf really well. Beautiful scoop by Rupinder to Uthappa but he cannot control it. South Korea on the counter again and cross but India manage to get it out. India counter next with Affan but Korea defend well.

16:36 (IST)22 OCT 2016

Q2 8' India 0-1 South Korea - You have to laud the way Korea have shaped up to stifle the Indian midfield. They have stopped the flow of passes and India are being forced to attempt outrageous moves. 16:33 (IST)22 OCT 2016

Q2 6' India 0-1 South Korea - South Korea get a penalty corner but India review the call. SUCCESSFUL. Good call by India and they have the ball back. They are being patient at the moment. Q2 4' India 0-1 South Korea -Oltmans is one worried man and India need to find an answer soon in this game. South Korea are looking quite comfortable at the moment and India are not doing anything to change that. A lot of passes being strung by India but none of them are decisive ones.

16:28 (IST)22 OCT 2016

Q2 2' India 0-1 South Korea - The statistics show how Korea have played the game to their strengths and India's possession of 65% along with more than 10 circle entries mean nothing. India start the second quarter looking to make inroads in the Korean goal and their exuberance pays off as Lakra and Lalit induce an error. Penalty Corner to India. Sardar injects the ball and Rupinder Pal Singh takes a shot and DEFLECTED. Nearly there.

16:24 (IST)22 OCT 2016

The second quarter coming right up.

16:24 (IST)22 OCT 2016

Q1 15' India 0-1 South Korea - Another chance for South Korea and the Indian midfield has been caught sleeping again. How did Korea not score  there? First quarter comes to an end with a long corner for India followed by an attempt but it is over. Not the start India wanted.

16:21 (IST)22 OCT 2016

Q1 13' India 0-1 South Korea - Oltmans will not be happy with that as India have been quite sloppy in their marking. India need a response. Around three minutes remain in the first quarter. Korea are seeing more of the ball than they were at the starting of the game. They have stretched India a lot. Though India have reached their circle, there has been lack of creativity.

16:19 (IST)22 OCT 2016

Q1 11' India 0-1 South Korea - India have had a lot of possession but not a lot of clear cut chances. Korea's strategy seems to be working well as they are happy to defend. They are playing long passes to find chinks in India's armour and just their. KOREA take the LEAD. GOOOALLLLLL Really sloppy from India as Jungwoo makes no mistake.

16:17 (IST)22 OCT 2016

Q1 9' India 0-0 South Korea - Finally Korea manage to keep possession for more than 30 seconds but that is how long it stays. Hang On. Risky pass by Jasjit in his own half and South Korea have a chance and NEARLY. Sreejesh will be furious with that. India attack right after and almost score. This is end to end play.

16:14 (IST)22 OCT 2016

Q1 6' India 0-0 South Korea - The men in red know that India are going to control possession and are happy to sit back. Chinglesana dances in the Korean circle and cuts it back but the ball is cleared. Korea are yet to attack in this game. India attack again but are intercepted.

16:12 (IST)22 OCT 2016

Q1 4' India 0-0 South Korea - Sardar Singh has an excellent chemistry with Lakra and Chinglesana. This is going to be crucial today.  Talwinder breaks and SAVED by the Korean goalie, He shoots again and SAVED again. India should have taken the lead there. Great keeping from the Korean but India are up and running. Using the width of the field really well.

16:10 (IST)22 OCT 2016

Q1 2' India 0-0 South Korea - India start the game, hitting from right to left, they try to keep possession and play the ball amongst the back line. South Korea gain the ball briefly but India win it back. No Akashdeep today. South Korea play risky in their own half and concede a long corner.

15:35 (IST)22 OCT 2016

15:14 (IST)22 OCT 2016

Hello friends and welcome to Sportskeeda's live coverage of the 2016 Men's Asian Champions Trophy.

India will take on Korea in their second game of the Men’s Asian Hockey Championship. Riding on the back of a big win over Japan in their previous game, the Indians will look to further consolidate their claims as the best team in the tournament. Korea come into this game after losing to Pakistan yesterday and they will be looking to set their campaign back on track with a win today. Such a result would be quite an upset and would open the tournament up.

With the diktat loud and clear from the coach, each member of the squad will be keen to play his role to perfection. Of particular importance are P.R Sreejesh, Sardara Singh, Rupinder Pal Singh and Ramandeep Singh. These men are the bulwarks of this setup and their form will have a big impact on the team’s fortunes.

Sreejesh’s terrific goalkeeping, Sardara’s silken touch and angles, Ramandeep’s bursts into the opposition’s circle and Rupinder’s drag flicking continue to remain invaluable to India. In fact Rupinder made his intentions known in no uncertain terms by shooting in six penalty corners against Japan. He will be the man to watch out for against Korea as well.

All seems to be going well for the Indians and the only things that they should be worried about are complacency and the fact that they were not fully tested by Japan. Despite being slightly off colour in the third quarter of the previous game, their stupendous play in the other quarters gave them an easy victory. Korea will certainly offer a stiffer challenge and it would be interesting to see how the Indians respond.
