Mohun Bagan 2 - 1 Colombo; go through to the next stages of the AFC Cup 4-2 on aggregate.

The first half was a stroll in the park for Bagan and they killed the game with two goals - one scored and the other created by the effervescent Sony Norde.

Zarwan came on and added some spark to Colombo, and Yapo scored a goal that will have very few equals in this competition, or any other - but it was all too little too late.

Congratulations to Mohun Bagan, Commisserations to Colombo FC.

95' Shilton Paul takes a goalkick....

94' Zarwan races forward full of intent and purpose. Then passes it two yards to Anas Edathodika. *facepalm* as the kids would say it these days.

93' Souvik C takes a turn bombarding forward, and he lifts one into the box - Jeje tries an acrobatic effort at goal... that would have been SOME finish... but he can't connect cleanly enough and it's collected by Imran.

91' Shouvik G tries to pick up Balwant, but he plays it straight to Mohideen. The midfielder runs forward and tries to play in Olofin, but the Nigerian is caught offside.

90' The ball is being passed around between the teams faster than an illegal 1000 rupee note. Four minutes more before Bagan can seal their progress in the AFC Cup

Yapo mesmerised the Bagan defence and twinkle-toed past four, FOUR, defenders before hammering it low into the corner. The Ivorian celebrated with a mini-CR7 type jump... and why not? SUPERB GOAL, that, and pride has well and truly been restored for the Yellow Submarines.

85' Souvik G goes bombing down the left yet again, but this time Charitha does not let him overlap and Colombo mount another attack. They are playing for pride here.

83' Colombo win a freekick and Yapo whips in a dangerous looking ball, but Olofin clatters into Shilton Paul and the ref does not like that one bit.

82' SUBSTITUTION Yusa OFF, Azharuddin Malik ON

81' Balwant looks to make up for his weak penalty, but he overcompensates and sends the ball into the Hooghly with an almighty thwack.

80' Colombo come forward, and win another throw in Charitha territory. His throw creates confusion in the box once again, but Anas does well to slide in and whack it clear.

The striker went low to the keeper's right, but it lacked both direction and power. Sanjoy Sen looks like he is entering Antonio Conte "I'll murder you" territory

78' BALWANT MISSES! HORRIBLE PENALTY! GOOD SAVE FROM IMRAN!

Souvik G whips the ball into the box, and the ball ricochets around the box before Afeel handles it. A softer penalty conceded you will not see.

75' Balwant is released on the left by a raking ball from Halder, and.... PENALTY FOR BAGAN!!

72' WOOF! Jeje Lalpekhlua has a pop at goal, and boy! we know he can give it a good ol' whack. The ball whistles just above the bar - AIFF's Player of the Year 2016 is not yet on the scoresheet.

71' SUBSTITUTIONFOR CFC this time as Nizam goes off for de Silva. Yusa tries to take Charitha on down the left, but the right back likes defending him far more than he liked it with Norde. He shepherds the ball, and the Japanese, out of play.

70' SUBSTITUTION FOR MB - Duffy OFF, Raynier ON

69' Having gotten their breath back. Bagan stroll it around with contemptuous ease before Souvik G tries to release Balwant Singh down the left.. He is bullied off by Yapo. The Punjabi does not like that one bit and takes the Ivorian down - show him who's boss and all that.

68' Chameera gets clattered into by Bikramjit Sr and it's an opportunity for everyone to get their breath back.

67' Yapo has been everywhere today. The Ivorian runs into the half, and cuts in before unleashing a shot... attempting to unleash a shot. It's well directed, but there's no power behind that, and Paul collects rather comfortably.

66' Not for long - Olofin handles the ball, again, and it's a free kick for Bagan in their own half.

65' Bikramjit fancies himself from thirty yards. Not sure why. The attempted shot doesn't clear the first man in his path, and Colombo have the ball again.

63' Zarwan has added so much quality to this outfit, it beggars belief why he didn't start this one. He releases Olofin with a neat little dink, but Anas does brilliantly to cover and smack it out of play. From the throw in, Bagan clear with much more comfort.

61' SUBSTITUTE - the excellent Sony Norde OFF, Balwant Singh ON. Sanjoy Sen has an eye, or both, on that Kolkata Derby (scheduled for the 12th) doesn't he?

60' The ball is whipped in and creates all sorts of confusion in the box. The ball breaks out to Sony, who just can't get it under his spell! A better touch and that was 3-0.

59' UFF!!! Yusa is the Hazard/Neymar of Indian football and he gets fouled so very often! Chameera bangs into him and he wins yet another freekick.

58' Colombo are not taking this lying down though, Charitha releases Olofin down the right... the Nigerian runs past Bikramjit and smacks a shot at goal, but Shilton Paul has that covered.

57' WHY THE HELL DIDN'T ZARWAN START? The Little no. 10 goes on a mazy ran that takes out Souvik C and Anas Edathodika. He then goes on to beat Shilton Paul with a lovely little shot, but it has no power in it and Bikramjit clears OFF THE LINE!

Yusa picked out Norde with a lovely little reverse ball and the Haitian accelerated away from Charitha like the Lankan right back was not there. Strolling into the box - and with all the time in the world - stroked a ball into the path of Duffy, who will never score a simpler goal in his life

56' GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOALL!!! DUFFY!

55' SUBSTITUTION for CFC- Qasim OFF for Zarwan, who is a skillful little lad and plays in that no. 10 hole.

54' Souvik G bombs forward in his best Marcelo impression. He lives up to that comparison by whipping a cross straight into the opposition keeper's hands.

52' Charitha hurls the ball into the box and Olofin finds himself in space inside the box! He turns and has a pop, but used his hand to control it in the meantime - and that's not allowed, sir. Peeeeep! goes the referee

51' Charitha takes a Rory Delap-esque long throw that creates all sorts of confusion in the Bagan box, before Souvik C nips in and thumps it away. It's all one-way traffic now, though, and Colombo are bossing possession

50' Colombo have started this half with way more purpose - their two best players Olofin and Yapo combine well with a couple of neat one-touch passes, but Halder gets his boot stuck in and that's that.

49' Colombo win a freekick in a dangerous looking area, and from it, Mohideen glances it towards the far post. It's going out, but Anas -having gotten no calls from his teammates - takes no chances and heads it out for a corner. The corner delivery is tripe.

48' OH MY BIKRAMJIT SINGH!! From the freekick (off that Yusa foul), Bagan win a corner. The corner is worked out to BIkramjit who has all the space in the world at the edge of the box. Utterly perplexed by this turn of events, he shanks the ball into row Z.

47' Judging by the way he walked away after about ten seconds of rolling... he was Busquets-ing it.

46' OUCH! OUCH! OUCH! Katsumi Yusa is remembering all his ancestors as he rolls around the ground in agony after a sturdy Chameera challenge. Or he might have been just Busquet-ing it.

46' PEEP! WE'RE OFF YET AGAIN!

Sony Norde decided that enough was enough and scored a goal that marked a half of almost unchallenged authority for Bagan. This tie looks to be wrapped up in a pretty little bow, unless Colombo can find some inspiration, and a distinct improvement in quality, from somewhere

46' A minute added on. Olofin limps off the pitch after going into a crunching 50-50 with Halder. Yeah, that's not something I would advise anyone should do. Halder is one tough bugger.

45' Yapo plays the ball to Olofin and the striker immediately returns it to the Ivorian. He turns on a dime and curls a shot at the far post, but there is absolutely no power on that shot.
