With today’s victory, Mohun Bagan clinched the much-needed 3 points to climb to the top of CFL 2017 table.

The first half saw Mohun Bagan establish their dominion as Nikhil Kadam scored a timely goal to give the hosts a one-goal lead heading into halftime. However, a defensive lapse from the hosts brought back the game to square one again as Dodoz made a neat flick to
pull back the equalizer.

The second half witnessed a lot of turnover in possession and MB needed to be more ruthless in front of goal. Peerless put up a comprehensive and overall performance. However, a penalty in the final third of the match came to MB's rescue as Kromah made no mistake from the spot.

The referee blows the whistle as the first half comes to an end. All square as Mohun Bagan is staring down at an untimely draw ahead of the Kolkata Derby on the 24th. The Mariners were lucky to grab the lead but needs to be more ruthless in the second half to kill the game. Peerless has shown a great defensive game and are looking dangerous on the counter.
