It all kicked off after the half-time whistle as Portugal's players surrounded the Argentinian referee. They were unhappy that a penalty was not given when Bruno went down in the box in the dying seconds of the half. And then Morocco nearly scored a 2nd but Yahia Attiyat Allah sliced the shot well wide as they broke down the left. Tasty affair and expect it to get more tetchy in the 2nd half.

HALF-TIME! Morocco 1 Portugal 0. Morocco doing Moroccan things. Defend well and hit on the counter. The goal was a bit of a goalkeeping error as Costa came and did not get there. Bruno hit the crossbar after the goal and it's all perfectly set up for the 2nd half.

Bruno Fernandes HITS THE CROSSBAR! A lovely volley on the right from outside the box and Yassine Bounou can't stretch high and far enough to get a glove on that, the ball lands on the crossbar and goes away. Would've been the goal of this World Cup had it gone in. Not sure whether Bruno meant it or was it an attempted cross?

GOAL! Youssef En-Nesyri in the 42nd minute! Morocco 1 Portugal 0. A delightful cross from the left is floated and Diogo Costa comes out for the ball but does not get there as he flaps at it, Youssef En-Nesyri gives Morocco the lead with a towering header. Perfect from the striker. Morocco fans go wild.

Sofiane Boufal then tries to curl one in from outside the box but it's straight at Diogo Costa.

Good chance for Selim Amallah as the ball is cut back from the left, but he can't keep the half-volley on target, skying it well over.

Yassine Bounou was wrong-footed there and if it was on target, would've gone in.

Joao Felix tries an outrageous outside of the boot flick which takes a wicket deflection and just loops over the crossbar.

A free-kick on the right and the floated ball is glanced over by Youssef En-Nesyri. Half a chance that.

Yassine Bounou and Bruno Fernandes go for a high ball in the box and collide with each other. Thankfully it's not a serious collision and both are fine to continue.

The game has settled down into a pattern now. Portugal pressing and with possession, Morocco happy to defend and hit on the counter.
