Not wanting to dampen the mood but Naresh Kumar Sharma is on 22nd position with the round about to end.
Let me tell you what just happened. A 45-year-old woman sitting on a wheelchair has gone to Rio de Janeiro and won India a silver medal. This is huge huge huge huge. Congratulations to all of India.
This is staggering stuff. We all should stand up and applaud this woman, who is thousands of miles away from home and making the country proud. Deepa Malik has done what no other woman in Indian history has done. She is 45 years old and an inspiration to millions, in fact billions.
SHOT PUT - DEEPA MALIK has won a Silver Medal at the Paralympics Ladies and gentlemen. India should rejoice.

SHOT PUT - DEEPA MALIK YOU BEAUTY!!!! She betters 4.49 and manages a best of 4.61 in her next three attempts. This is quite magnificent. Magnificent.
SHOT PUT - Ukraine's Svitlana Stetsyuk fails to register a successful throw in all three attempts.
SHOOTING - Naresh Kumar Sharma is in 15th position after two rounds. The standing stage remains. A 400/400 would put him on 1158/1200, which is unlikely and wont be enough as well.
