With four races to go before the medal race, Nethra will have a chance to test out some of her skills and build up some confidence in what is only her debut Olympics. With a day's rest before the next race, expect the Indian sailor to give it her all in the races to come.

Nethra Kumanan finished 39th in Race 6 of the Women's Laser Radial event

Nethra crosses the finish line in 39th place, 4 minutes and 39 seconds trailing the race leader.

She did lose a position after crossing the final mark, but with a few more races to come, there's a good chance for the Indian sailor to gain some vital places in the final standings!

Switzerland's Maud Jayet crosses Mark 5 in 52 minutes and 4 seconds, and further takes 1 minute and 28 seconds to cross the finish line!

Almost 4 minutes and 45 seconds trailing the leader is Nethra, who is in 38th place at the 4th mark of Race 6.

Nethra loses four more positions at Mark 3, and she's now in 38th place.

The Indian sailor has struggled quite a bit today, and it will take a herculean effort from her to climb out of the 30s by the end of today's race.

Switzerland's Maud Jayet, who is the race leader, has now crossed Mark 3 with a time of 28 minutes and 57 seconds to her name.

A slight improvement as we round Mark 2 now, Nethra gaining two positions to 34th place among the 44 sailors.

Overall, Nethra is in 32nd position and is in a race against time to push for a spot within the Top 10. Realistically though, that goal seems fairly out of reach.

At Mark 1, Nethra finds herself in 36th place, almost two minutes behind the race leader. Not the most ideal start for the Indian sailor.

We're now live with Race 6 of the Women's Laser Radial sailing event, where Nethra Kumanan will look to make massive gains in position in a bid to strengthen her chances of a Top 20 finish.

Nethra Kumanan's final result at the end of Race 5

Nethra Kumanan finishes Race 5 in 32nd position.

Not the greatest of results for the Indian sailor, but she's got a chance at redemption when Race 6 begins later today.

Nethra is now 3 minutes and 21 seconds off the leader, and she's now in 31st place, losing two places ahead of the final mark.

No change in position for Nethra, she's still in 29th place at Mark 3!

Two more marks to go before the turn towards the finish line, Nethra will want to ideally finish close to the early 20s to improve her overall rank.

We're past the second mark too, and Nethra has slipped down a position to 29th.

She's trailing the race leader by 1 minute and 46 seconds, lot of ground to cover now.

Nethra Kumanan is in 28th as we get past Mark 1! 1 minute 36 seconds off the leader Josefin Olsson.

Sweden's Josefin Olsson in the lead, followed by Norway's Hoest Flem and Hungary's Maria Erdi in 2nd and 3rd place.

Hello folks! Welcome to Sportskeeda's live coverage of the Women's Laser Radial Race 5.

India's Nethra Kumanan will be in action in this event, with the sailor having endured a torrid outing yesterday, finishing 40 out of 44 competitors in the fleet. However, she can take heart from her performances in the first 3 races, including some time spent amidst the leaders that propelled her chances of climbing up the ranks.

The Laser Radial event will be on for the next few days, with a total of 9 races taking place before we find out which 10 sailors will be contesting in the medal race on the final day!
