Good morning and welcome to the Sportskeeda liveblog of the 2017 Senior National Badminton Championships. After the qualifying rounds, we have reached the main draw action of the flagship event of BAI where all the top Indian shuttlers will now be vying for the title.

Today the pre-quarter-final round will be played. PV Sindhu is the top seed while Saina Nehwal is the second seed at this tournament. Sindhu has won this event twice before - in 2011 and 2013. She is aiming to win her third Nationals title this year.

The World No. 2 has come to this tournament after a fabulous run to the semi-finals of the French Open Superseries in end of October. Her campaign came to an end at the hands of Akane Yamagichi against whom she looked exhausted and slow on the feet.

But now after a week's rest, she should be raring to go. She faces 21-year-old Revati Devasthale, who showed some amazing fighting skills in the qualifying stages. The latter, who won three matches to set up the Sindhu clash, upset the fifth seeded Riya Mookherjee in a tight three-game match in the final round. She can thus stretch Sindhu but the 2017 World Championships silver medallist should pull through.
