The game started off with Bayern Munich dominating possession and looking much the better team, but Zidane's men held on resolutely and grabbed a goal thanks to Danilo's thunderous strike and stole the win.

Next up for Madrid is the Super Cup against Sevilla in Norway and Zidane will be particularly pleased with his team's defensive performance.

The first half has been quite dreary. Real Madrid will be hoping that they have more of an impact in the second half. The likes of James, Modric, Isco and Morata have struggled to impose themselves on the game. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich have dominated possession but they have only managed to test Casilla twice in the first half.

This is one game where I hope the first half is completely different from the second one
