Manchester United were completely, thoroughy, outplayed for the first time this pre-season by a bunch of kids from Real Madrid Castilla along with Kovacic and Casemiro. Fellaini, though, should have buried the world's easiest chance to give United the win late in the half - but no one goes from sublime to farcical faster than the big Belgian.

The 1-1 seems a fair result taking into consideration both halves; so will David De Gea remind Real Madrid of what they'll be missing next season?
...
PEEP! PEEP! PENALTIES IT IS!
...
93' Pogba looks like he's gotten the better of Hakimi, but the Moroccan does superbly to hold off the belligerent Frenchman
...
92' Maybe not off that effort - though - as Casemiro seizes on another poor Pogba touch to release Gomez who hit it hopelessly wide as he attempted to catch De Gea off guard.
...
91' Blind hoists in a freekick from the halfway line that Lukaku can only guide out for a goal kick. The English side have been properly outplayed by the youngsters from Spain. Guti should be proud!
...
90' Madrid are doing all the running this half, and Hakimi skins Daley Blind with absurd ease before sending in a cross harmlessly deep. Three minutes to be added on
...
89' Poor, poor, work from Pogba again as he's caught out by Gomez... Madrid stream forward but Oscar's wild hack at the ball sees the move come to a juddering halt.
...
88' Pogba clears the corner, but Gomez and Hakimi combine to split open United' midfield once again - before the Moroccan sends one sailing into row Z
...
87' Well done Hakimi! The Moroccan slipped in Oscar with a lovely ball and the midfielder, in turn, send in a good one ito the box that Lindelof did well to clear... it's a corner, though, for Madrid.
...
86' McTominay has been United's best midfielder this half... Pogba arguably their worst (and that's factoring in Fellaini's ludicrous miss)
...
84' Valencia cuts out a Hakimi crossfield to stop another flowing Madrid move. Mkhitaryan then motors forward before being pulled down by Oscar - who gets into the book. Too late, as per Senor Mourinho
...
82' OH MY FELLAINI! McTominay picks out the lumbering giant absolutely, utterly, completely free in the box with a superb cross.... that Fellaini manages to send into orbit from around six yards out... the man is capable of some of the most clumsily horrible misses - but this is the worst I've seen.
...
81' Blind sells Martial short with a horrendous pass that is stolen from his feet but the Dutchman recovers to extricate United from a precarious position. Pogba is then muscled off the ball once again by Quezada, but the young man runs into traffic in the middle of the park ...
...
79' Brilliant build-up play and hold-up play from Blind and  Lukaku allows McTominay to slip in Paul Pogba at the edge of the box - where Quezada does superbly to ensure the world's most expensive player doesn't get a shot away.
...
75' Antonio Valencia is on for Matteo Darmian... as Mourinho seeks to shut down the Theo Hernandez threat on the left
...
74' United try to slow things down with some neat passing... but Martial is pulled up for a handball... drinks break once again. United's lads look like they need it.
...
72' OH Luis Miguel! The youngster takes the free kick - from virtually zero angle - direct and De Gea has to keep his wits about him to keep the ball from sneaking in at his near post
...
71' Pogba turns Casemiro with ease but Lukaku can't do the same to Manu and Madrid counter... Franchu flies down the wing before being upended rather silly-ily by Chris Smalling...
...
70' OOOO UNITED ALMOST RETALIATE IMMEDIATELY... Mkhitaryan creates space and slips in a lovely little ball that Lukaku lets run for McTominay, but Casila races off his line to make a superb smothering save.
...
69' GOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAL! CASEMIRO ALMOST TAKES THE NET OFF!
...
68' OH MY! PENALTY FOR MADRID!!  HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE CHALLENGE (IN TERMS OF TIMING, NOT VIOLENCE) FROM LINDELOF ON THEO HERNANDEZ
...
66' Blind and Martial combine down the left to speed up proceedings for United and the Dutchman will take the corner they win in the process. the setpiece is cleared but McTominay does superbly to skip past a couple of people before picking out Fellaini - who's adjudged offside, correctly.
...
65' The Swede then does well to intercept and start off a bout off United passing that ends with a poor touch from Martial. It's this casualness at times that infuriates - how can a man with such lovely ball control lose the ball due to a bad first touch so often?
...
64' United are getting no purchase off this makeshift Madrid team and the youngsters are passing the ball around calmly... Lindelof barges into Kovacic as he gets fed up of all the passing around.
...
62' Kovacic is in considerable pain after a Mkhitaryan challenge, but it does not appear to be too serious.
...
61' OH BLIND!!! OH LUKAKU!! The first meaningful attack from United this half sees Blind curl one of those lovely sweeping balls into the box that just evades Lukaku. Corner for United... that Fellaini thumps over the crossbar.
...
60' Gomez catches Fellaini loitering on the ball before the big Belgium gets nutmegged by the tricky little youngster. Fellaini, though, is no giver-up-of-lost-causes and muscles his way back into possession.
...
59' Oscar smacks it straight into the wall, but Mkhitaryan's counter is nullified as Theo Hernandez forces the Armenian to go back in order to retain possesion.
...
58' United aren't getting a touch of the ball now as Madrid pass the ball around with slick precision... Casemiro and Fellaini go into a tackle with equal force and the Brazilian wins that bout before being bundled over by Scott McTominay... freekick for Madrid in a promising position,
...
56' Hakimi does well to ensure Martial doesn't run in behind the Madrid defence... and these Madrid youngsters are playing with a panache and calmness of mind that belies their age. The ball is then handed over to a relatively senior figure in Kovacic - the underrated Croat runs through three challenges with typical brilliance before standing one up at the far post that Gomez can only guide on to the head of Pogba.
...
54' Hakimi, the first Moroccan to play for the senior Real Madrid team, attempts a cross but it's nipped in its bud by Blind. The Madrid youngsters are full of running though and are chasing and harrying the United team all over the place
...
53' Theo Hernandez is also on for Real Madrid and this is our first look at the former Atletico youth teamer in the white of Real. Meanwhile, Lindelof tries a long ball to Lukaku but Casilla reads it well to safely gather
...
52' Herrera hobbles off after six minutes to be replaced by big Scott McTominay. Him and Fellaini make for a quite imposing midfield partnership, I must say.
...
51' Herrera seems to have pulled a muscle after that crunching Oscar challenge, and he may well be taken off. Mourinho is exceptionally angry and the ref has to come over to calm him down.
...
50' Herrera has been hounded from the beginning of this half by Oscar - and the 19-year-old fouls his senior compatriot for the second time in four minutes
...
49' Oscar tries a speculative attempt from nigh on fifty yards trying to catch De Gea out. The Spaniard looks on contemptuously as the ball sails well wide.
...
46' United pass the ball around well, but with 8 youth teamers now on the field for Madrid, they are pressing high, and pressing fast. Forget to mention that the Reds have brought on Paul Pogba, Henrikh Mhkitaryan, and Victor Lindelof as well.
...
